Company Description Eating Disorders Nova Scotia is a community-based charitable organization dedicated to inspiring hope, reducing stigma, and raising awareness about eating disorders. The organization offers accessible supports at all stages of recovery, ensuring that no one has to face an eating disorder alone. Services include individual mentoring, peer support, workshops, and support groups, as well as resources for families and friends. Eating Disorders Nova Scotia works collaboratively with community partners to strengthen support networks and improve outcomes for people affected by eating disorders.

Role Description

The Program Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax, NS, responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, and evaluation of programs and services. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating support groups, workshops, and mentoring services, ensuring schedules, facilitators, and resources are in place. The Program Manager will supervise and support staff and volunteers, manage program budgets and reporting, and maintain accurate records and documentation. This role involves engaging with community partners, promoting programs, and gathering participant feedback to improve services. The Program Manager will also contribute to organizational strategy, help identify service gaps, and support fundraising and awareness initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Program management skills, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community-based services.
Experience supervising staff and volunteers, with strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
Skills in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and partnership development within health or social services.
Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, facilitation of groups, and presentation abilities.
Organizational and administrative skills, including scheduling, documentation, data tracking, and basic budgeting.
Knowledge of mental health and eating disorders, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices, and community support models.
Ability to work on-site in Halifax, NS, with flexibility to attend occasional events or meetings outside regular business hours.
Post-secondary education in social work, psychology, health promotion, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and non-judgmental, person-centered support.
