The Team
eBay's Native Focused Category team builds mobile experiences across key areas of our marketplace, including Parts & Accessories, Vehicles, Fashion, Collectibles, and Electronics. Our team specializes primarily in Parts & Accessories (P&A), developing features that help customers discover and purchase the right parts for their vehicles.
Our work includes experiences like My Garage, personalized parts recommendations, and vehicle-specific shopping features. We're also expanding these experiences into international markets while modernizing our iOS application with SwiftUI.
While P&A is our primary focus, the team also contributes to initiatives across other categories, giving engineers opportunities to work on a variety of customer-facing experiences.

The Role
As an iOS Software Engineer on the Native Focused Category team, you'll contribute to building and improving features within eBay's core iOS application. You'll work primarily with Swift and SwiftUI, collaborating with experienced native engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver intuitive, reliable mobile experiences.
You'll have the opportunity to independently own well-defined features while contributing to larger initiatives alongside senior engineers. This role is ideal for someone with strong iOS fundamentals who is eager to learn, take initiative, and grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment.
What You Will Accomplish
- Develop, test, and maintain customer-facing features within eBay's core iOS application using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Contribute to My Garage, parts discovery, personalized recommendations, international expansion, and other Focused Category initiatives.
- Independently deliver well-defined features while collaborating with experienced engineers on more complex projects.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and other mobile engineers to translate requirements into polished user experiences.
- Integrate with backend services using REST APIs and contribute to reliable, data-driven mobile experiences.
- Follow established iOS architectural patterns to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Explore AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering efficiency and code quality.
What You Will Bring
- 2+ years of professional native iOS development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI.
- Understanding of common iOS architectural patterns such as MVC and MVVM.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and understanding request/response workflows.
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming, including Swift concurrency and async/await.
- Experience developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining production-quality mobile features.
- Ability to independently deliver scoped development tasks while collaborating with more experienced engineers on complex initiatives.
- Familiarity with unit testing, code reviews, and modern software development practices.
- Interest in using AI development tools thoughtfully and effectively to improve productivity and problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to learn and grow.
Nice to Have
- Experience with UIKit.
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- Exposure to Android or backend development.
- Experience working on consumer-facing applications at scale.
- Familiarity with dependency management tools such as Swift Package Manager (SPM) or CocoaPods and CI/CD workflows.

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$118,000 - C$157,500
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
