We are looking for a
Mechanical and Electrical Manager to join our building division on a project located in Napanee, Ontario. This role will play an important part in the project from beginning to end.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Create and manage work schedule, scope or works for subcontracts.
Quality Control
- ITP (Inspection Test Plans) for Div 11-12 (Specialties), Div 14, Div 21, Div 22, Div 23 & Div 25 Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, piping & controls) and Div 26 to Div 28 for electrical (power, lighting, communication, life safety systems such as fire alarms, low voltage inclusive of security systems) inclusive of Utility Agreements.
Design Assist & Coordination Reviews
- Review Architectural, Structural, Signage Drawings in relationship to Mechanical & Electrical Drawings, Specifications, Shop Drawings and other engineering submittals.
- Lead M&E interference and clash-detection coordination meetings, and resolve technical discrepancies before and during construction.
Subcontractor & Trade Management
- Hire, supervise, and coordinate mechanical and electrical subcontractors and specialty trades, ensuring performance meets contractual specifications.
Cost & Budget Control
- Monitor M&E labor and material progress and expenditures, track project costs, prepare regular billings on the M&E portion by reviewing and evaluating the M&E & Specialty subcontractors billings (including Schedule of Values breakdown), and evaluate subcontractor change orders.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Implement and enforce M&E quality control programs to ensure all installations comply with the Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, TSSA standards, ESA Standards and project specifications.
Commissioning & Turnover
- Oversee system testing, inspection and test plans (ITPs), final walk-throughs, and the compilation of closeout documents and as-built drawings (including spare part delivery).
Requirements
- A degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction
- Management or Equivalent Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certification of Training.
- Generally 8 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in M&E construction, project management, or senior field supervision.
- Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, code compliance, and cross-trade leadership.
- Being located within the region of Napanee, such as Kingston, Belleville, Trenton Areas is an asset.
Desired Profile
- Project & Team Leadership: Direct multidisciplinary engineering or construction teams, assign personnel, and track milestone delivery against project schedules.
- Design & Technical Oversight: Review and approve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design concepts, shop drawings, power distribution systems, and code compliance.
- Budget & Contract Management: Prepare cost projections, negotiate change orders, manage subcontractor quotations, and maintain financial accountability.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Implement Quality Control (QC) programs, enforce job site safety standards, and oversee integrated systems testing (IST) or commissioning.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary technical interface with clients, utilities, consultants, and municipal inspectors.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $95,000 - $145,000. Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
