Advanced Cyclotron Systems, Inc. (ACSI) is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of high output cyclotrons for the international nuclear medicine community. The company manufactures and supplies complete systems for radioisotope and radiopharmaceutical production from hospitals and universities to research facilities and commercial distributors of medical isotopes.

SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Planner & Buyer is responsible for planning and procuring the materials, machined components, fabricated assemblies, commercial parts, and services required for cyclotron production, installation, service, and customer spare-parts orders. The role combines material planning, technical purchasing, vendor management, ERP/MRP control, inventory planning, expediting, and customer-order support. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Customer Support, Finance, and suppliers to ensure accurate demand, competitive sourcing, reliable delivery, and complete material availability. This is an in-person manufacturing supply-chain position and is not limited to transactional purchase-order entry.

What You'll Do:

Review production schedules, engineering drawings, bills of material, project requirements, inventory, and ERP/MRP demand to identify material requirements and required delivery dates.
Create and maintain accurate part numbers, descriptions, specifications, manufacturing masters, planning parameters, vendor data, lead times, costs, and related records in Infor VISUAL or other company systems.
Plan externally purchased and internally manufactured parts, including raw material, machined components, fabricated assemblies, commercial off-the-shelf items, and installation materials; determine whether requirements should be purchased to a project, replenished to inventory, or manufactured internally.
Source qualified suppliers and machine shops; prepare and issue RFQs with the correct drawings, revisions, specifications, quantities, quality requirements, and delivery expectations.
Review and compare quotations for price, lead time, technical compliance, quality, payment terms, freight, minimum order quantities, and commercial risk; negotiate with suppliers and recommend the best-value source.
Create and issue purchase orders with accurate pricing, quantities, units of measure, specifications, job or inventory allocation, delivery dates, shipping terms, payment terms, and required documentation.
Obtain order acknowledgements, monitor open purchase orders, maintain current promise dates, expedite critical and overdue items, and communicate material risks and recovery plans to the appropriate teams.
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Receiving, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Quality, and Customer Support to resolve drawing, BOM, ERP, shortage, quantity, specification, and delivery discrepancies.
Review inventory requirements and recommend stocking levels using usage, lead time, value, failure rate, production timing, warranty needs, available space, obsolescence risk, and economic order quantities.
Prepare customer spare-parts quotations by confirming the correct part, current cost, supplier pricing, availability, lead time, freight, and other required commercial information in accordance with approved pricing practices.
Process approved spare-parts orders into customer orders and internal demand, coordinate purchasing or inventory allocation, and support kitting, documentation, and shipment readiness.
Manage supplier-related NCR actions, returns, rework, warranty replacements, credits, and corrective follow-up while maintaining accurate ERP and purchasing records.
Coordinate payment requirements and supporting documentation with Finance, including deposits, prepayments, credit-card purchases, cheque requests, wire transfers, and supplier terms when applicable.
Maintain accurate purchasing, planning, quotation, order, supplier, and shortage records; provide status reports and practical feedback that improves material availability, inventory accuracy, cost, lead time, and supplier performance.

What You'll Bring:

Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience.
Practical experience in material planning, purchasing, procurement, or supply-chain coordination within an engineered-to-order, make-to-order, OEM, or other complex manufacturing environment.
Strong ERP/MRP experience, including material planning, manufacturing structures, purchase orders, inventory, job demand, and customer orders; experience with Infor VISUAL is a strong asset.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, bills of material, technical specifications, part revisions, and requirements for machined, fabricated, and commercial components.
Experience sourcing suppliers, issuing RFQs, evaluating quotations, negotiating commercial terms, placing purchase orders, monitoring delivery, and expediting shortages.
Experience preparing quotations or supporting customer spare-parts, aftermarket, service, or replacement-part orders is an asset.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills, with the ability to organize, analyze, and communicate purchasing, inventory, cost, lead-time, and delivery information accurately.
Excellent attention to detail, commercial judgment, problem-solving, organization, and written and verbal communication skills; able to manage changing priorities and work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with aerospace, medical or nuclear equipment, precision machining, vacuum systems, particle accelerators, industrial automation, or other complex industrial equipment is an asset; SCMP, APICS/ASCM, or related training is also an asset.

Work Environment:

This is an in-person, hands-on production position based at ACSI's current facility in Richmond, B.C. ACSI is planning to relocate its operations to South Surrey in early 2028.
Work is performed in production, assembly, testing, and machine-shop areas where required personal protective equipment must be worn.
Priorities may change to support production schedules, Factory Acceptance Testing, shipments, and customer-site requirements.
International travel to customer sites is required. The successful candidate must hold a valid passport and be able to travel abroad for installation, commissioning, service, and maintenance assignments.
