Original job description

Are you passionate about solving complex thermal challenges that enable the next generation of AI, high-performance computing, and sustainable data center technologies?

At CoolIT, an Ecolab company, you will help develop innovative liquid cooling solutions that support Ecolab's mission of protecting vital resources while advancing high-performance technologies. Ecolab is a global leader in water solutions and is expanding its capabilities in AI and data center cooling through CoolIT's industry-leading direct liquid cooling technologies.

As a Thermal Mechanical Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate liquid cooling solutions for high-performance electronics, including passive cold plates, coolant distribution manifolds, and modular cooling system components. Working within our IT Cooling design engineering team, you will apply thermal, fluid, and mechanical engineering principles to deliver products that meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability objectives. We rely on you to support product development from concept through production by leading design activities, performing analysis, building and testing prototypes, and collaborating with manufacturing, quality, test, and customer-facing teams. Reporting to the Thermal Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, you will play a key role in advancing innovative cooling technologies that power some of the world's most demanding computing environments.

What's in it For You

Day 1 Coverage: Employer-paid comprehensive benefits, including dental, prescription drug, vision, paramedical coverage, and a $1,000 annual Health Spending Account.

RRSP: 2% employer-sponsored contribution.

Enjoy three weeks of vacation, six flex days, and a one-week paid company-wide holiday shutdown.

$1,000 Annual professional development allowance to support your ongoing learning, skill development, and career growth.

Dress for your day in a casual, professional environment.

Work in a hybrid environment.

What You Will Do

Design and develop thermal-mechanical products and components, including passive cold plates, coolant distribution manifolds, and modular cooling system assemblies, with a focus on performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.

Lead product development activities from concept through production, including design studies, prototype development, design verification, risk assessment, and release to manufacturing.

Create and maintain detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and related documentation in accordance with company standards, GD&T practices, and DFM requirements.

Conduct thermal, fluid flow, structural analyses, and perform laboratory testing, data analysis, and root cause investigations to validate designs and optimize product performance.

Collaborate cross-functionally with testing, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer-facing teams, while actively contributing to design reviews and providing technical recommendations to resolve design challenges.

Work on challenging engineering problems involving heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanical design, simulation, and product validation.

Grow your technical and professional expertise through hands-on product development, design ownership, and exposure to cutting-edge cooling technologies.
