Reporting to the Assistant Controller and Controller, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to CoolIT's continued integration into Ecolab, a Fortune 500 public company. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close activities, accounting research, process improvements, and internal control enhancements while helping build scalable finance processes in a dynamic and evolving environment.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys solving complex challenges, and brings a proactive, self-starter mindset to their work.

What’s in it For You

Day 1 Coverage: Employer-paid comprehensive benefits, including dental, prescription drug, vision, paramedical coverage, and a $1,000 annual Health Spending Account.
RRSP: 2% employer-sponsored contribution.
Enjoy three weeks of vacation, six flex days, and a one-week paid company-wide holiday shutdown.
$1,000 Annual professional development allowance to support your ongoing learning, skill development, and career growth.
Dress for your day in a casual, professional environment.
Work in a hybrid environment.

What You Will Do

Work closely with the Assistant Controller and Controller to support CoolIT's continued integration into Ecolab and its public-company accounting and reporting environment.
Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reporting deliverables.
Own assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts, proactively investigating and resolving variances, discrepancies, and accounting issues.
Support complex accounting matters by researching accounting guidance and developing practical solutions for new and evolving business challenges.
Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to provide meaningful insights to Finance leadership.
Support external audits, tax compliance activities, internal reporting, and public-company reporting requirements.
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other business functions to understand transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, reporting capabilities, and system functionality.
Lead or participate in process improvement, automation, ERP, and finance transformation initiatives.
Assist with the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Provide guidance, review, and mentorship to junior accounting team members.
Take ownership of new projects and evolving priorities while demonstrating strong judgment and adaptability in a changing business environment.

Minimum Qualifications

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or active enrollment in the CPA program is a must.
Previous public accounting experience.
4-7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Must have experience in a U.S. GAAP or IFRS reporting standards and environment.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including analysis of large and complex data sets.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA designation.
Experience in a manufacturing, technology, or other complex operational environment.
Experience with NetSuite and/or SAP ERP systems.
Experience supporting a public-company reporting environment.
Experience with finance transformation, process improvement, or automation initiatives.
Exposure to internal control frameworks and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive issues through to resolution.
