Join CoolIT, an Ecolab Company, a global leader in Direct Liquid Cooling technology for data centers, supercomputers, and high-performance computing environments.

CoolIT is hiring a full-time Sustaining Technical Lead to coordinate and drive multidisciplinary sustaining engineering activities across our CDU product portfolio from production introduction through end of life. In this role, you will partner with Product Management and Project Management teams to translate business priorities into executable engineering plans while leading cross-functional efforts across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for managing technical risks, driving engineering changes, leading design and change reviews, supporting root cause investigations, and ensuring product improvements are delivered on schedule and in compliance with technical, quality, and business requirements. As a key technical leader and individual contributor, you will influence stakeholders across the organization, resolve complex product and manufacturing challenges, and support the ongoing reliability, performance, and scalability of CoolIT's industry-leading liquid cooling solutions.

What’s in it For You

  • Day 1 Coverage: Employer-paid comprehensive benefits, including dental, prescription drug, vision, paramedical coverage, and a $1,000 annual Health Spending Account.
  • RRSP: 2% employer-sponsored contribution.
  • Enjoy three weeks of vacation, six flex days, and a one-week paid company-wide holiday shutdown.
  • $1,000 Annual professional development allowance to support your ongoing learning, skill development, and career growth.
  • Dress for your day in a casual, professional environment.
  • Work in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional sustaining engineering activities across the CDU portfolio from production introduction through end of life.
  • Partner with Product Management and Project Management to establish priorities, scope, schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate deliverables across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and test engineering teams.
  • Manage technical interfaces, dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and escalations across disciplines.
  • Lead design reviews, engineering change reviews, root-cause investigations, and technical problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure engineering changes meet product requirements, standards, compliance obligations, verification criteria, schedules, and business objectives.
  • Drive Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through impact assessment, configuration control, and implementation.
  • Support resolution of product, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, field performance, reliability, qualification, and VAVE-related issues.
  • Communicate technical status, decisions, risks, and action plans to stakeholders and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of multidisciplinary product development and/or sustaining engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technical initiatives as an individual contributor.
  • Experience translating product priorities into executable engineering plans in collaboration with Product and Project Management teams.
  • Experience with systems integration, requirements management, configuration management, and engineering change control processes.
  • Strong root-cause analysis, risk assessment, technical decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad technical knowledge across mechanical, fluid, thermal, electrical, controls, software, and test systems, with deep expertise in at least one engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting complex industrial equipment, liquid cooling systems, or hyperscale data center products.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing or product development environments.
