Original job description
Great projects don't happen by accident. They happen because someone takes ownership, brings people together, and turns plans into results.
Are You Ready to Own the Outcome?
At EDL Building Solutions, we keep Alberta buildings running, improving, and ready for what comes next. Much of our work happens in existing, operating facilities: retrofits, equipment replacements, upgrades, and projects that demand smart planning and minimal disruption.
We're looking for a Project Coordinator who is ready to own smaller projects, coordinate multiple trades, and make a real impact on our customers and our results. This is more than project administration. You'll manage assigned projects from handoff to closeout, with the support of an experienced team and room to grow.
Who We Are
EDL Building Solutions is Alberta's multi-trade building services partner, delivering HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and controls solutions. We believe in Reliability, Passion, One Team, and Results, and in getting better every day.
The Person We're Looking For
A Fixer. You spot problems early, get to the root cause, and bring solutions instead of surprises.
A Thinker. You understand how schedules, resources, customer needs, and job costs fit together, and plan accordingly.
A Doer. You follow through, keep people informed, and take pride in seeing projects completed safely and profitably.
What You'll Do
Own assigned projects, typically ranging from $20,000 to $750,000, from handoff through completion and closeout.
Plan and coordinate schedules, field resources, subcontractors, materials, procurement, and customer commitments across multiple trades.
Manage project budgets, job costing, forecasts, change orders, and margins; identify risks early and take action.
Lead execution of commercial retrofits, equipment replacements, and upgrades in existing or occupied facilities, minimizing customer disruption.
Keep customers, field teams, and leadership aligned through proactive communication and accurate project reporting.
Champion safe work, quality, timely billing support, organized documentation, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, project management, or a technical trades role involving commercial building systems, retrofits, equipment replacements, and upgrades to existing facilities.
A technical trades background is strongly preferred, particularly in HVAC/R/refrigeration; plumbing, electrical, and building controls experience is also highly valued. A recognized journeyperson trade certification is a significant asset.
Experience independently managing smaller projects and coordinating trades, subcontractors, and customers.
Working knowledge of scheduling, resource allocation, procurement, job costing, budgets, and change management.
Proficiency with project management software for scheduling, resource allocation, progress tracking, and reporting; Jonas ERP job-costing experience is an asset.
Strong communication, organization, commercial judgement, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
PMP certification, or actively working toward it, is considered an asset.
What You'll Get
Annual base salary: $79,500–$99,500 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Target short-term incentive (STIP): 10% of annual base salary, subject to plan terms and performance criteria.
Additional monthly project performance incentives, with potential annual earnings of approximately $10,000–$24,000 based on project results relative to approved estimates. Incentives are variable and subject to program terms.
Company-paid Benefits Package And Life Insurance.
Paid vacation and paid personal time off.
RRSP matching.
Meaningful project ownership, mentorship, and opportunities to grow your project management career.
Other Requirements
Full-time, on-site position based in Edmonton, Alberta.
Ability to travel to project sites in Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, and Lethbridge.
Valid driver’s licence.
