More about this job
Responsibilities
Design, simulate, and optimize photonic integrated circuit components and circuits, and develop reusable design libraries and an erbium-doped PDK. Produce and verify fabrication-ready GDSII masks, automate design workflows with Python, validate simulations against measurements, and support customer and R&D projects in collaboration with fabrication, testing, and packaging teams.
Requirements
A master’s degree or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, photonics, or a related field is required, along with experience designing photonic integrated circuits from simulation through mask layout. Strong Python skills and experience with FDTD and FEM simulations are required; familiarity with tools such as gdspy, Luceda IPKISS, or GDSFactory is expected, while silicon photonics and active photonic device experience are a plus.
