About the opportunity

We’re partnering with a fast-growing Canadian pharmaceutical manufacturer specializing in sterile injectable products for hospitals in Canada and abroad. To support the growth of its Montreal production site, our client is looking for a technical expert to own its automated visual inspection (AVI) systems and related instrumentation.

What you’ll do

  • Own the automated visual inspection machines for parenteral products (vials, ampoules, syringes): setup, recipe development, troubleshooting and optimization
  • Define and tune inspection parameters for particulate, cosmetic and container closure defects, balancing detection rate and false rejects
  • Lead qualification and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ, Knapp studies, defect test sets) in compliance with GMP requirements
  • Manage instrumentation, sensors and calibration related to inspection and packaging equipment
  • Support production on the floor, investigate deviations and contribute to CAPAs and change controls
  • Train operators and technicians, and drive continuous improvement projects with Production, Quality and Engineering

What you bring

  • Degree or technical diploma in engineering, automation, instrumentation or a related field
  • Experience with automated or semi-automated visual inspection, ideally in pharma, biotech or medical devices
  • Hands-on experience with AVI platforms such as Körber/Seidenader
  • Good understanding of machine vision: cameras, optics, lighting, image processing
  • Knowledge of GMP, Annex 1 and visual inspection standards (USP <790>/<1790>, Ph. Eur.) is a strong asset
  • Experience with validation and technical documentation in a regulated environment
  • Problem-solver, hands-on, comfortable in a production environment

Why join

  • A key technical role with direct impact on product quality and patient safety
  • A growing company investing in its Canadian manufacturing capabilities
