Our team is small but our impact is mighty!

About the position:

We’re growing and looking to add a Senior Network Engineer to our team!

EGATE’s Network Engineers are responsible designing, managing, and operating our core network as well as customer managed network services. You will also act as a liaison between our Support team and EGATE’s customers.

The ideal candidate will take a self-directed approach to problem-solving, have a passion for technology, and have previous experience working with a network service provider or part of an Enterprise network team. If you’re the type of person who likes variety in their day-to-day role and enjoys providing a higher level of support to Enterprise customers, then we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities:

● Provide technical and customer support to EGATE’s Enterprise customers

● Accountable for ensuring the EGATE’s support team is equipped and prepared to provide best-in-class support

● Responding to technical alert notifications on servers, network services and network devices or appliances

● Creating and managing technical and other customer service tickets

● Providing technical support services for servers, network appliances, firewalls, routers, switches and other network and system devices

● Coordinate with other team members and customers

● Scheduled and ad hoc on-call assistance as required

Requirements:

● Minimum of 7+ years of professional practical, hands-on network management

● Proficient experience operating and configuring network protocols including: BGP, VRRP, OSFP, PPPoE, IPsec, network switches, and WiFi systems

● In-depth knowledge of IP network concepts, devices, and protocols

● Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Mikrotik, or Juniper

● Experience configuring and managing firewalls such as Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS, or Fortinet FortiOS

● Some programing, automation, or scripting experience in python or other languages and systems

● Creative problem solver with solid troubleshooting skills

● Customer service focused with drive to learn new technical skills

● Applicants must be proficient in English communication, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

● CCNA, CCIE, CCNP designations, or other industry technical certificates

● Familiarity with Atlassian suite of productivity tools

● Experience with VOIP systems and other related technologies

● Familiar with basic Linux systems administration tasks and functions

● Experience with VMware ESX or other hypervisor platforms

● Experience with public cloud interconnects such as AWS DirectConnect or Azure ExpressRoute

● Experience with operating and using public cloud services in AWS, GCP or Azure

● Experience with Microsoft’s suite of Enterprise technology tools such as Entra

● Additional programing or scripting experience in python or other languages

Why EGATE:

● Generous Paid Time Off: Our employees enjoy paid vacation and sick days, allowing them to rest and recharge

● Friendly Office Environment: Our office is well-stocked with complimentary beverages including pop, water, coffee, and tea, making for a comfortable and inviting workspace

● Accessibility: The office is easily accessible by transit, as well as free parking is provided on-site

● Social Engagement: We believe in celebrating together, be it birthdays or milestones. Regular company social events, team outings, and celebrations foster a sense of community and camaraderie within our team

Interested applicants should submit their resume to careers@egate.net for consideration. Our hiring process includes interviews, a technical assessment, and background/reference checks.

While we value every candidate’s interest, only qualified candidates will be contacted.
