Original job description

About eHealth and our Culture

eHealth Saskatchewan is at the heart of how health care works across the province – powering the digital systems that connect care teams, patients and information. With over 800 employees in 20 communities, we provide IT support and services in 433 locations, ensuring the right information and tools are in the right hands at the right time so care teams can focus on what matters most: patient care. We also manage Vital Statistics, health card services, and MySaskHealthRecord, one of Canada’s leading tools for giving people secure online access to their health information.

At eHealth, how we work matters just as much as what we deliver. Our culture isn’t just something we talk about, it shapes how we make decisions, support each other and deliver results:

1. Partner for results: We prioritize teamwork and ensure decisions involve those affected
2. Serve with purpose: We act with empathy, respect and care in every interaction to deliver better outcomes
3. Own our actions: We own our success and failures, act with honesty, and uphold trust
4. Innovate with intent: We challenge the status quo and turn ideas into action

Join us in strengthening Saskatchewan’s health system through meaningful, people-centered digital innovation.

The Opportunity

As a Network Solutions Architect, you will play a key role in shaping the technology infrastructure that supports health care delivery across Saskatchewan. You will lead the design and integration of complex network solutions that connect facilities, systems, care providers, and patients throughout the province. This is an opportunity to influence major healthcare initiatives while helping ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions that improve patient care and support future growth.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Director, Architecture & Design, you will:

Lead the architecture, design, and planning of network solutions for major healthcare infrastructure and technology projects.
Develop solutions that align with provincial standards, business requirements, security policies, and organizational objectives.
Design and evaluate network infrastructure including data centre networks, wireless technologies, facility-based networking, unified communications, and provincial connectivity.
Collaborate with technical teams, project stakeholders, vendors, and healthcare partners to ensure successful solution delivery.
Conduct requirements analysis, feasibility assessments, and cost-benefit evaluations to support technology investment decisions.
Develop implementation plans, testing strategies, timelines, and transition approaches for new and enhanced technologies.
Provide technical leadership and architectural expertise to ensure interoperability, performance, security, and long-term sustainability of enterprise solutions.

Who we're looking for

You are someone who:

Enjoys solving complex technical and organizational challenges while balancing business needs and technical requirements.
Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Thrives in environments where collaboration, influence, and political acumen are important to achieving successful outcomes.
Brings strong analytical and critical thinking skills and can transform ambiguity into practical, actionable solutions.
Demonstrates curiosity and learning agility, staying informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and evolving best practices.
Remains adaptable, resilient, and focused while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll bring to the Team

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
Several years of progressive experience designing and implementing enterprise technology and network solutions.
Experience in solution architecture, requirements gathering, systems design, and technology planning.
Strong knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, infrastructure design, security principles, and enterprise applications.
Experience working with Windows and Unix-based operating environments and related technologies.
Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, evaluate technology solutions, and support project delivery initiatives.
Industry-recognized information technology certification; TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture certification would be considered an asset.
Major project experience, particularly within large and complex environments, is considered an asset.
