- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials
- Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
- Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
- Estimate costs and materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
- Supervise staff or team

Responsibilities
Inspect formwork, base materials, and reinforcement; place, compact, level, finish, and cure concrete surfaces. Repair and restore concrete structures, estimate costs and materials, interpret plans and specifications, and supervise staff or a team.
Requirements
Requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 3 to less than 5 years of experience. The role requires a valid driver's licence, frequent travel between work locations, and the ability to perform physically demanding work, including handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
