The Opportunity
We are looking for a curious and motivated recent graduate to join our team as a Junior Cybersecurity Consultant.
This entry-level opportunity is ideal for someone looking to build practical experience across Cybersecurity, Internal IT support, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Consulting. You'll work alongside experienced security professionals, receive mentorship and training, and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills and confidence grow.
This role is designed to provide a strong foundation for a long-term career in cybersecurity. Through hands-on experience and ongoing development, you'll gain exposure to security assessments, compliance frameworks, risk management, and day-to-day security operations, with opportunities to grow into more specialized cybersecurity and consulting roles over time.
This position is based in Toronto, and candidates must reside in the Greater Toronto Area and be able to work in a hybrid environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day support for internal IT questions and issues, including basic troubleshooting, device setup, user access management, and employee onboarding/offboarding.
- Help maintain security policies, procedures, asset inventories, and internal documentation.
- Support cybersecurity and compliance activities, including gap assessments, vendor security reviews, risk assessments, vulnerability tracking, and security awareness initiatives.
- Work with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF.
- Assist with client and internal security projects while learning cybersecurity consulting best practices.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to build cybersecurity and GRC expertise.
What You Bring
- Recent graduate from a university or college program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in cybersecurity, technology, risk, compliance, and consulting.
- Basic understanding of operating systems, cloud technologies, networking, or cybersecurity concepts.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, responsive, and comfortable helping others solve technology-related issues.
- Curious, proactive, and open to feedback.
- No prior full-time cybersecurity experience required.
Nice to Have
- Cybersecurity concentration, specialization, or relevant coursework.
- Co-op terms, internships, or part-time experience in IT, cybersecurity, help desk, or technology support.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, or endpoint management tools.
- Entry-level certifications such as ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft SC-900.
- Exposure to concepts such as access management, vulnerability management, risk assessments, policy development, auditing, or compliance programs
