Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Structural Engineer / Designer / Drafter / Detailer role based in Calgary, AB. The position involves performing structural analysis and design for high voltage transmission, substation, and related civil/structural components, including foundations, steel structures, and equipment supports. The role includes preparing detailed design drawings and models using computer-aided design (CAD) tools, developing construction details, and coordinating with engineers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and constructability. Daily responsibilities also include preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, assisting with design reports and specifications, and supporting project documentation and quality checks. The individual will collaborate with project managers, designers, and field teams to meet project schedules, adhere to industry standards, and support safe, reliable energy infrastructure.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to transmission, substation, and related infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Structural Analysis and engineering Calculations for steel, concrete, and foundation systems, including familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
• Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for structural design, drafting, and detailing of drawings and 3D models.
• Relevant technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; professional engineering designation or eligibility is an asset.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting project deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and external partners.
• Experience in power delivery, utility, or industrial projects is beneficial, as well as familiarity with Canadian building codes and standards.
