Core Software Engineer

Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay and all-out warfare, for over two decades. 100 million players and 5 billion hours played later, Battlefield Studios is defining the future of the first-person shooter with the biggest launch in franchise history with Battlefield 6, and a new era beginning with Battlefield REDSEC.

United under the banner of Battlefield Studios, 4 world-class teams across Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have come together to focus on the future of the franchise, a connected Battlefield universe filled with immersive experiences built on our unique DNA.

LET’S PUSH THINGS FORWARD

Motive

Based in Montreal, a city booming with culture, art, creativity, and technology – we play with purpose and are dedicated to making legacy-defining games.

We’re a passionate team out to change the game - not just how games are made and played, but also how a studio and its team members can thrive. We do this by promoting an inclusive culture, a safe place to be yourself, and by nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.

Join us on this extraordinary journey.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Core Software Engineer with experience writing high-quality and maintainable code in C++. We find added value in candidates with expertise in optimizing for CPU performance and memory usage, and low-level understanding of the console and PC platforms.

We need your bravery to challenge existing ideas. You can identify the small things that make a big difference. You listen to other people's ideas, know how to embrace change, and you lead by example.

Reporting into Technical Lead, you will be a part of ensuring the studio and our live titles to adopt new technology and always improve the way we work. As an engineer, your ideas and implementations will change how DICE creates games. From within DICE and EA, being in a driving partnership with the Frostbite development team, you will work with leading industry talent in one of the world's largest and leading game development communities.

Requirements

Experience with C++
Experience with optimizing for CPU performance and memory usage
Experience with low level programming
Experience debugging difficult bugs
Motivated to achieve with an eye towards quality
Good communicator

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience with game engines, art content pipelines and workflows

About Electronic Arts

From leadership that brings out your potential, to creating space for learning and experimenting, we empower you to do great work and pursue opportunities for growth.

We adopt a holistic approach to our benefits programs, emphasizing physical, emotional, financial, career, and community wellness to support a balanced life. Our packages are tailored to meet local needs and may include healthcare coverage, mental well-being support, retirement savings, paid time off, family leaves, complimentary games, and more. We nurture environments where our teams can always bring their best to what they do.
