Original job description

Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Manager, Procurement - Game Engine & Technology

We are looking for a Manager, Procurement to help shape the technology supplier relationships that power how EA makes amazing games. You will sit at the intersection of creativity, technology, and deal-making - partnering with developers, artists, and technical leaders to influence technology decisions that support game creation at scale.

This is an opportunity to help secure external partnerships. These partnerships are not only about price, but also about the licensing models, IP rights, and AI-related terms that allow game teams to adopt and scale technology with confidence. Your work will contribute to how studios access technologies such as game engines, developer tools, AI/ML solutions, and content solutions.

This is a permanent individual contributor role reporting into the Director, Procurement - Game Engine & Technology. You will be based in Vancouver, BC. under a hybrid work model, with onsite work required 3 days per week.

Main Responsibilities

Partner with studios, artists, developers, and technical leaders to understand strategic goals, operating requirements, and decision criteria.

Bring commercial strategies and insights into technology decisions early, helping internal partners assess the market and evaluate options through intelligence gathering, RFx or other diligence methods.

Orchestrate partner understanding across studios, partners, and subject matter experts to facilitate knowledge sharing and end-to-end deal execution.

Develop and support commercial frameworks, designing deal structures and negotiating terms that balance value, risk, and scalability in service of EA's goals.

Translate complex commercial, contractual, and supplier considerations into clear recommendations that help partners make the right technology decisions.

Support ongoing relationship management to improve commercial value, assess supplier performance, and align capabilities with evolving technology roadmaps.

Job Attributes

Influential Business Partner. You earn trust with partners. You care about their vision and measures of success. You challenge assumptions constructively, and respect and align diverse perspectives.

Creative Commercial Strategist. You explore different approaches. You take ownership of the entire deal - not just price. You thoughtfully engage partners to understand priorities and tradeoffs.

Trusted Connector. In a federated environment, you bring the right people together, share information, and surface issues early. You connect the dots others may overlook and orchestrate alignment across internal and external partners.

Team Capability Builder. You look for ways to enhance the team, not just deliver your own work. You help improve our own capabilities in data, processes, and AI-enabled ways of working to help the team work smarter.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of relevant procurement, technology partnerships, strategic sourcing, or commercial deal-making experience.

Experience with technology categories such as game creation technologies, software/SaaS, or AI/ML.

Experience working with remote team members and partners in a globally distributed environment.

Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$92,900 - $129,200 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.

About Electronic Arts

We’re proud to have an extensive portfolio of games and experiences, locations around the world, and opportunities across EA. We value adaptability, resilience, creativity, and curiosity. From leadership that brings out your potential, to creating space for learning and experimenting, we empower you to do great work and pursue opportunities for growth.

We adopt a holistic approach to our benefits programs, emphasizing physical, emotional, financial, career, and community wellness to support a balanced life. Our packages are tailored to meet local needs and may include healthcare coverage, mental well-being support, retirement savings, paid time off, family leaves, complimentary games, and more. We nurture environments where our teams can always bring their best to what they do.

Electronic Arts is an equal opportunity employer. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, religion, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, marital status, family status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
