Senior Experience Designer - EA SPORTS™ NHL

The EA Sports NHL team is looking for a collaborative, creative, and passionate Senior Experience Designer for the NHL Live XD Team.
As a member of the Live Experience Design (XD) team you will help shape our online gameplay experiences including Hockey Ultimate Team, World of Chel, and Live events. You will work with all product pillars to ensure continued commitment to our online player base year over year, and contribute to long-term healthy UX solutions game-wide.
You will report to the Associate UX Director. We collaborate with all disciplines to create high-quality experiences that promote player engagement and strengthen the identity of the EA SPORTS NHL brand.
Responsibilities
- You will have responsibility for the live service user experience, including Hockey Ultimate team and other online modes.
- You will translate research insights into workflows and designs using UX tools like Figma, and methodologies like journeys, information architecture, wireframes and prototypes.
- You will identify user testing and research needs for multiple features and coordinate with our internal UR team.
- You will help mentor junior UX designers on the team in best practices within the user experience and design industry.
- You will help establish design strategy and best practices for online and live service environment experiences.
- You will work both independently and collaboratively with fellow UX team members, technical artists, product managers, and software engineers who are geographically distributed across the globe throughout the process.
Required Qualifications
- You will have a portfolio that contains multiple case studies highlighting your design skills, technical expertise, and the ability to think holistically through systems and experiences.
- You will have 6+ years of experience designing for complex, data-rich applications such as creative tools, game engines or productivity software.
- You will have experience tailoring and presenting complex concepts to different audiences (including product managers, other designers, engineers, game studio partners).
- You will be comfortable working in complex organisations and have a history of collaboratively leading and promoting UX principles and best practices with partners and colleagues.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- You will have 3+ years of experience designing for live service user experiences.
- You will have experience establishing and improving player forward UX processes in a monetized live service gameplay environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$122,300 - $170,700 CAD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
