Role Description The Registered Dietitian will provide evidence-based nutritional assessment, counseling, and education to clients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting individual nutrition consultations, developing personalized care plans, documenting clinical notes, and coordinating with physiotherapists and other practitioners to support integrated treatment goals. The role involves applying medical nutrition therapy for various conditions, supporting weight management and lifestyle changes, and delivering clear, practical recommendations tailored to each client’s needs. This is a contract position in a hybrid model, with in-person work primarily at the Oshawa, ON clinic and some work-from-home tasks such as follow-up consultations, documentation, and program development.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Dietetics and Nutrition, with the ability to translate clinical knowledge into practical, client-centered recommendations.
- Skills in Nutritional Counseling, including motivational interviewing and behavior change support.
- Experience with Medical Nutrition Therapy for a range of conditions (e.g., metabolic, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal-related concerns).
- Competence in Weight Management interventions, including individualized meal planning and lifestyle modification strategies.
- Current registration in good standing as a Registered Dietitian with the appropriate provincial regulatory body (e.g., College of Dietitians of Ontario).
- Experience working in a clinical, rehabilitation, or multidisciplinary healthcare setting is an asset.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Comfort with hybrid work, including use of electronic health records and virtual consultation platforms.
