Original job description
About the Role
Location: Victoria, BC or Edmonton, AB | Hybrid
You ask good questions. Then you do something useful with the answers.
A client brings you a challenge. The information is incomplete, people have different perspectives, and the deadline is already in the calendar. You can bring structure to that situation, work through the evidence and help move things forward.
At Elevate Consulting, you’ll work on defined projects and workstreams, support larger engagements, and develop practical solutions for public- and private-sector clients. Your work may include organizational planning, change management, stakeholder engagement, facilitation and business improvement.
You’ll have room to exercise your judgement, with experienced colleagues to challenge your thinking and support delivery. You’ll also be hands-on. Research, analysis, writing and revisions are part of the job.
What you’ll work on
- Work with fellow consultants and clients to clarify the problem, define outcomes and establish a practical approach.
- Manage project activities, timelines and deliverables, raising risks early.
- Develop reports, recommendations, presentations, change plans and other client materials.
- Support the design and facilitation of interviews, workshops and stakeholder discussions.
- Turn research and engagement findings into clear recommendations.
- Coordinate contributions from colleagues and review work for quality and consistency.
- Support business development through client relationships and responses to requests for proposals.
What we want to see on your resume
- Experience working on defined projects or workstreams and delivering work for clients or internal decision-makers.
- Applied experience in change management, planning, facilitation and project management.
- Examples of developing substantial written deliverables, recommendations or presentations.
- Experience working with stakeholders who have different priorities and perspectives.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Education or professional development relevant to the work you’ve delivered.
Experience in public-sector consulting, procurement, evaluation, service design or digital transformation would be an asset. Show us where you have depth and what you contributed.
What we’ll look for when we meet you
We’ll explore how you frame a problem, test assumptions and make recommendations when the answer is unclear. We’ll want examples of managing client expectations, responding to difficult feedback and knowing when to ask for support.
We’ll also pay attention to how you listen, explain your thinking and take responsibility for the quality of your work. Thoughtful use of AI is welcome, with clear accountability for accuracy, confidentiality and professional judgement.
Why Elevate?
We’re a small business management consulting firm that helps organizations solve problems and put solutions into practice. You’ll contribute across the project lifecycle and see how your work affects client decisions.
We care about service, thoughtful work and following through. We also enjoy working together. Our total rewards package includes a competitive base salary, comprehensive extended health benefits, a Health Spending Account and a flexible, hybrid work model.
Interested?
Apply through the Apply Now button with a one- or two-page résumé and a cover letter of no more than one page. Tell us why Elevate interests you, describe a project where your contribution made a difference, and identify whether you’re closest to our Victoria or Edmonton office.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a brief practical exercise. Applications are accepted through the application portal; we cannot accept telephone or emailed applications. We thank everyone who applies. Candidates selected for the next step will be contacted.
