Original job description

Senior Technical Consultant

Location: Vancouver, BC | Type: Full Time (Direct Hire) | Setup: Hybrid | Experience: 3+ years | Pay: Up to $120K + 20% bonus

About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Technical Consultant to own the integration side of source-to-pay transformations: designing how procurement platforms talk to ERPs, building the interfaces, and making sure they keep working when an upstream system doesn't. You'll run architecture workshops with client stakeholders, then go build what you designed.

The client is a specialist source-to-pay consultancy that advises on, implements, and drives value from market-leading spend management cloud platforms. Their projects are full lifecycle programs for enterprise clients across Canada and the United States, so you'll see real complexity: multiple ERPs, legacy middleware, and data that has to migrate cleanly on cutover weekend.

This is a direct hire role with travel up to 35% of the time within Canada and the US. If you're the person on an implementation who actually understands both the API contract and the procurement process behind it, this role is built around you.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build integrations between procurement suites and ERP systems using service-oriented and API-led patterns
  • Lead requirements gathering and design sessions, then turn them into documented integration architecture and non-functional requirements
  • Own delivery end to end on integration, custom development, and data migration workstreams: architecture, design, build, test, and documentation
  • Estimate the tasks, effort, and resources needed to design, build, and test each solution
  • Write new code and extend existing integrations as client needs evolve
  • Make sure the overall solution handles upstream and downstream failures gracefully
  • Act as the go-to expert on integration architecture, data sources, security, and deployment for the project team
  • Present a clear technical narrative to client IT and business leaders

Qualifications

  • 3+ years as an Integration Architect or Lead Technical Architect on Agile or hybrid source-to-pay transformation programs (or equivalent)
  • Intermediate or better skills building integrations with web services, XML, JSON, and SQL (required)
  • Proven experience developing REST API and SOAP web service integrations
  • Experience facilitating integration architecture discussions and workshops
  • Delivery on at least three full lifecycle implementations as a team member, team lead, or project manager
  • Comfortable with web-based applications, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models and how they fit into an enterprise environment
  • Organized enough to run several projects at once, with strong written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
  • Able to travel up to 35% within Canada and the United States

Nice to Have

  • SAP Ariba experience (highly preferred), or Zip, Coupa, or Ivalua
  • SAP Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite (CPI/HCI), SAP PI/PO, or Ariba Integration Toolkit (ITK)
  • Other ETL tools
  • Functional knowledge of procurement business processes
  • ERP knowledge (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, or similar)

Why Join Us

You'll join a focused, senior consulting team that lives and breathes procurement technology, small enough that your architecture decisions carry real weight and specialized enough that you'll go deep on the platforms instead of spreading thin. Clients bring them in because they know source-to-pay better than a generalist integrator, and the work reflects that.

If you want integration work where the business process matters as much as the code, this is a strong next step.
