This role is responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships, coordinating internal activities, providing timely updates, and ensuring customer inquiries and concerns are addressed effectively.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who takes ownership, anticipates customer needs, and works collaboratively with internal teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as a primary point of contact for assigned key U.S. customers, ensuring timely responses to inquiries, requests, and concerns.
  • Proactively contact purchasing representatives at key accounts to identify potential challenges, gather feedback, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Follow up on newly launched products, initial shipments, and samples to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding order status, product updates, and outstanding action items.

Account Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with outside sales representatives and internal departments, including Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping, to resolve customer-related issues.
  • Track customer requests and action items through resolution, ensuring accountability and timely communication.
  • Coordinate customer updates and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Support customer communications through organized email campaigns, product announcements, and other mass communications.

New Customer Onboarding & Product Support

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new customers, including the preparation and distribution of standard account setup documentation.
  • Prepare and present program-specific materials, product documentation, and relevant customer information.
  • Coordinate sample preparation, shipments, tracking, and follow-up communications.
  • Ensure new customers receive the information and support required for a successful product launch.

Customer Database & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, contact information, and account details.
  • Record relevant customer feedback, field information, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain organized documentation of customer communications, outstanding issues, and resolutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of customer service processes and account management practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service, account coordination, sales support, or a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, take initiative, and follow through on commitments.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to develop positive, long-term customer relationships.
  • Comfortable making proactive customer calls and managing professional business communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using ERP, CRM, or customer management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the garage door industry.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or building-products customers.
  • Familiarity with U.S. customer accounts, distribution networks, or OEM relationships.
