Job Summary
We are hiring a Project Manager to join our Program Management team. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and coordination of assigned customer orders and projects. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, and Finance to ensure projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned customer orders from Quoting through production and delivery
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned orders, providing customers with regular, accurate status updates on timelines, issues, and deliverables
- Build and maintain Gantt charts and project schedules to track progress across fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly stages
- Coordinate daily/weekly priorities across departments (CNC, weld, brake press, tube cutting, paint, assembly) to keep orders on schedule and resolve bottlenecks
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and routers to confirm scope and specs, and flag discrepancies early
- Monitor schedule, cost, and risk on assigned orders; escalate issues to the Program Manager with proposed mitigation plans
- Track open issues/action items and drive timely resolution across departments
- Support the Program Manager in internal program meetings and customer update meetings
- Maintain clear, organized project documentation, status trackers, and reporting
- Support continuous improvement of project tracking processes, tools, and reporting
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment
- PMP certification highly recommended (or actively working toward one)
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and routers
- Experience building and managing Gantt charts/project schedules (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
- Proficiency with Excel; comfort with ERP/MRP systems and project tracking tools
- Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking directly with customers and giving clear status updates
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced floor environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working on-site full-time, including time spent on the production floor
- Occasional travel may be required to support customer visits, supplier coordination, or site meetings.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, welding, or similar contract manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
- Experience with purchase orders and production scheduling
- Exposure to KPI dashboards or reporting tools (Power BI, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar)
