Private Cook / Chef

Overview:

The Embassy of the State of Kuwait is seeking a talented and dedicated Cook/Chef. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Middle Eastern and Arab Gulf cuisine, with the ability to prepare a variety of international dishes, including Asian and Italian cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality meals for daily dining, events and special occasions.
• Prepare authentic Arab gulf and Middle Eastern dishes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety standards.
• Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and health considerations.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional culinary experience.
• Proven experience as a Cook/Chef in a private household or high-end restaurant setting.
• Strong knowledge of Middle Eastern and Arab Gulf cuisine; knowledge of other international cuisines is an asset

Language

• Must be fluent in English
• Arabic is an asset

Requirements

• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Food safety certification is preferred.
• Additional culinary certifications are an asset.
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ability to work in a private residential environment

Education

• Culinary degree or equivalent training in a relevant field preferred.

Work Schedule and Flexibility Requirements

This position requires a high degree of flexibility due to the nature of a private chef role within a diplomatic residential environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable preparing and serving meals for official guests, private functions, and special occasions that may take place during weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

The role may involve accommodating changing schedules, including short-notice requests for hosted meals and events. Candidates must be adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working in a live-in private residence setting, while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and respect for privacy at all times.
