The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Learning, the Senior Learning Specialist- Leadership Development plays a pivotal role in the program management of Emera’s global Leadership Academy. This individual will be instrumental in ensuring content relevance, coordination, delivery, evaluation and retention activities. The role requires a proactive approach to influence program direction and outcomes; enhance the learning experience, evolving program offerings, ensuring programs are aligned with Emera’s strategic objectives and contribute to the development of its team members. The role will work alongside the Talent Management team members to support the Emera Group of Companies.

Key Elements of this role include:

Learning Program Management, Facilitation and Execution:

Responsible for evolving the global Leadership Academy based on business need and trend
Manage the full lifecycle of learning programs inside the global Leadership Academy, including leading the participant coordination, logistics, facilitator management, and program delivery for the Emerging Leader Program(s); retention activities
Facilitate engaging, practical, instructor-led, virtual or in-person learning experiences that create meaningful dialogue, foster psychological safety, drive participation, and support knowledge transfer.
Adapt facilitation approaches to different audiences, levels, and learning needs while effectively managing group dynamics and challenging operational environment discussions.
Evaluate and report on program participation, engagement, completion, learner satisfaction, and business outcomes.

What Skills will make you successful:

The ideal incumbent may possess many of the following competencies:

Post secondary degree or diploma in Adult Education or a related discipline along with 8+ years of Learning and Development, people management, business and/or adult education experience

Operational business experience combined with the ability to understand organizational priorities
Ability to use data analysis and evidence-based recommendations to enhance program effectiveness
Excellent project management, communication, and consultation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills at a leader level
Ability to use learning data, learner evaluations, and business input to continuously enhance programs and delivery approaches
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, resolve issues/problems, prioritize workload, and be flexible to meet and adapt to changes in organizational priorities
Demonstrated experience acting as a key shared service resource and connecting with other functional areas of the business, building cross-functional relationships, as needed
Research skills and ability to identify/communicate/present trends and recommendations
