Senior Technical Project Manager – Technology Transformation

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead complex technology transformation initiatives within a leading Canadian insurance organization.

This is not a traditional Project Manager role. We are looking for a technically strong Project Manager who can work effectively with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Developers, Engineering teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.

The ideal candidate can understand technical discussions, challenge assumptions, manage complex dependencies, and translate technical issues into clear business impacts for senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead complex technology projects from initiation through delivery.

· Manage technical dependencies across applications, systems, teams, and workstreams.

· Partner with Architects, Developers, Engineering Leads, business teams, and vendors.

· Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and critical decisions.

· Support technology integration, modernization, migration, cloud, and transformation initiatives.

· Translate complex technical issues into clear business impacts and recommendations for executives.

· Provide executive-level reporting on project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions.

Technical Experience

Experience with several of the following:

· Enterprise and application architecture

· APIs and system integrations

· Cloud environments and migrations

· Data migration and conversion

· Application modernization

· Enterprise applications and platforms

· Complex technology dependencies

· Multi-vendor technology environments

Candidates do not need to be hands-on developers but must be technically strong enough to participate meaningfully in architecture and engineering discussions.

Guidewire Experience

Guidewire Cloud experience is highly desirable, including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter.

· Insurance technology transformation

· Guidewire / Guidewire Cloud

· Cloud migration and modernization

· Application and system integration

· Data migration/conversion

· M&A technology integration

· Enterprise platforms such as Oracle, Salesforce, or Google Cloud

· Experience working with Systems Integrators and technology vendors

Required Qualifications

· 8+ years of experience managing complex technology projects.

· Proven experience as a Senior Technical Project Manager or equivalent.

· Strong understanding of applications, integrations, cloud, data, and technology modernization.

· Experience working with Architects, Developers, Engineering teams, and vendors.

· Strong dependency, risk, stakeholder, and executive management skills.

· Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business leadership.

Ideal Candidate

A senior technology professional who happens to be a Project Manager - not a traditional PM focused primarily on timelines, budgets, and status reporting.
