President – Industrial Construction
Calgary, Alberta | Executive compensation and performance incentives
Win new business and lead the next stage of growth
You have built strong relationships in industrial construction, opened doors with customers and helped turn those relationships into profitable projects. You are now looking for an opportunity to lead a business where your contribution will have a direct impact.
Employ Global is recruiting a President for an established, privately owned industrial construction and fabrication company operating across Western Canada.
The business has longstanding customer relationships and an experienced team with strong project execution, estimating and project controls capabilities. The next stage is to build on that foundation: attract new customers, secure larger opportunities and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
The opportunity
Reporting directly to the owners, you will lead the company's commercial, operational and financial performance.
Business development will be a substantial part of your role. You will work closely with the existing commercial team, maintain senior customer relationships and personally help secure new work.
You will also provide leadership across the business, ensuring that growth is supported by safe delivery, sound financial decisions and a capable management team.
The company's services include industrial facility construction, fabrication, module assembly, mechanical services, and electrical and instrumentation work.
What you will do
- Open doors with new customers and build lasting commercial relationships.
- Develop a focused growth strategy across relevant industrial markets.
- Convert opportunities into profitable contracts that match the company's capabilities.
- Strengthen existing accounts and expand access to larger projects.
- Develop productive Indigenous partnerships that support shared opportunities.
- Lead overall business performance, including margins, cash flow and working capital.
- Support project teams in managing customer relationships, commercial negotiations and delivery commitments.
- Maintain strong safety and quality performance as the business grows.
- Mentor managers and strengthen leadership capability across the organisation.
- Work closely with the owners to make timely, practical decisions.
What you will bring
You may already be a President, or you may be a General Manager or divisional Vice President ready to take responsibility for a whole business.
We are particularly interested in leaders who can demonstrate:
- A personal track record of winning and retaining profitable industrial construction business.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta and Western Canadian industrial markets, with relevant customer relationships.
- Leadership experience within an industrial general contractor, mechanical contractor, fabrication business or related project delivery organisation.
- Responsibility for business or divisional profit and loss performance.
- Experience overseeing substantial industrial projects and understanding their commercial risks.
- The ability to build trust with owners, customers, managers and field teams.
- A practical leadership style that balances commercial ambition with disciplined execution.
- Experience in oil and gas facilities, petrochemicals, carbon capture, food processing, power generation or renewable energy would be relevant.
- Practical field experience and experience developing Indigenous partnerships would be assets.
- Relevant international experience is welcome alongside demonstrated understanding of the target market.
The leadership fit
This is a hands-on, privately owned business with a close-knit team and many longstanding employees. You will be comfortable working directly with the owners, making decisions quickly and respecting the experience already within the company. You will introduce improvements that help people deliver, while keeping processes practical and proportionate.
Why consider this opportunity?
- Lead an established business with experienced operational teams.
- Have direct access to the owners and influence over growth priorities.
- Build on longstanding customer relationships and proven delivery capabilities.
- Make a visible contribution through your commercial relationships and leadership.
- Receive a competitive executive salary, performance-related bonus and benefits package, with details discussed confidentially.
