Original job description

🚀 We're hiring: AI Engineer | Downtown Toronto (Hybrid) | Full-Time

A well-established global financial services company is expanding its enterprise AI platform. It's hiring a Senior AI Engineer to join a small, hands-on team. You'll design, ship and run production LLM services used by teams across the business, with modern AI coding tools at the centre of how you work.

AI-assisted development is the default here. You'll use Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor and the latest models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google every day, from the first prototype to debugging in production. You'll also help decide how the team gets the most out of these tools while keeping code quality high.

What you'll work on

  • Python and Go services that call LLMs through Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock or similar, including multi-step agent workflows
  • Full ownership of each service, from data model and logic to APIs and deployment on Kubernetes
  • Evaluation pipelines and test sets that catch problems in model output before users see them
  • Tracing and dashboards that show the cost, latency and output quality of every LLM call
  • Secure multi-tenant design covering permissions, authentication and usage limits
  • Clear technical write-ups of your architecture choices

What you'll need

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering, with recent production LLM work
  • Hands-on, daily use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Copilot or Cursor
  • Strong Python or Go, and experience building agents with an Anthropic, OpenAI or Google SDK
  • Solid skills in prompting, tool and function calling, structured outputs and context management
  • Test-first habits and good judgment about design patterns
  • Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and cloud observability (Azure is a plus)

Bonus: agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic AI, Semantic Kernel), MCP, Langfuse or similar LLM tracing, RAG and vector search, React or Angular, and a financial services background.
