Original job description

Enedym - Business Strategy, Sales & AI Lead Generation Co-op

About Enedym

Enedym is a spin-out company from McMaster University focused on developing next-generation electric motor and propulsion technologies. We specialize in innovative switched reluctance motor (SRM) solutions, aiming to revolutionize energy systems for a cleaner, more efficient future. Join our dynamic team in Hamilton to help drive meaningful change toward sustainability in transportation, heavy industry, and renewable energy.

The Mission

This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a high-growth technology startup. At Enedym, we are leveraging cutting-edge software and internal AI agents to scale our business operations. We are looking for a tech-fluent, analytical Business Strategy, Sales & AI Lead Generation Co-op to help us identify, target, and acquire our next strategic partners and customers.

Working directly alongside our strategy leadership, you will harness data mining techniques and our suite of AI tools to turn raw market data into targeted sales leads, account intelligence, and actionable growth strategies. If you want to sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and high-tech business development, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Driven Lead Generation & Data Mining

Target Account Prospecting: Mine industry databases, market repositories, and web sources to uncover high-potential B2B accounts across automotive, industrial, aerospace, and energy sectors.
AI Tool Integration: Utilize internal AI agents and prompting workflows to enrich lead data, extract key decision-maker details, and map organizational hierarchies.
Hyper-Targeted Contact Discovery: Identify key decision-makers (engineering directors, CTOs, procurement leads, VP of Innovation) within target accounts and build curated, high-accuracy contact lists.

Market Analytics & Account Targeting

Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) Refinement: Analyze target customer attributes, pain points, and adoption readiness to sharpen Enedym’s ICP and segmentation strategies.
Competitive Intelligence: Monitor market developments, competitor announcements, and customer news using data analytics and AI summary tools to keep leadership informed of emerging opportunities.
Data Synthesis: Translate raw market data and outbound pipeline metrics into clear reports and dashboard updates to guide commercial decisions.

Go-to-Market (GTM) & Sales Execution

Outreach Campaign Support: Assist in drafting personalized, data-driven outreach playbooks and messaging tailored to specific customer personas and industry verticals.
Pipeline Support: Track early-stage lead interactions, log insights into sales management tools, and assist strategy leadership in preparing materials for partnership discussions.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with strategy, engineering, and product teams to match customer requirements with Enedym’s technical capabilities.

What We Are Looking For

Analytical & Data-Savvy: Comfortable working with data sources, spreadsheet analysis, data extraction, and information gathering techniques.
Tech & AI Native: Enthusiastic about leveraging AI tools, agents, and automated software workflows to accelerate sales research and lead generation.
Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business strategy, sales processes, or marketing fundamentals (e.g., student in Business, Commerce, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or related fields).
Communication & Precision: Excellent written communication skills for synthesizing insights and crafting professional outreach collateral.
Proactive & Autonomous: A self-starter who thrives in a lean, fast-paced startup environment and takes initiative with minimal supervision.
