1.0 ABOUT US
EnerCorp Engineered Solutions, LLC is a private equity-backed engineering and technology company solving sand management, separation, flow assurance, and measurement challenges for global energy and industrial sectors. Our engineering teams design the systems, our manufacturing teams build them, and our field technicians put them to work. This creates a closed development loop where real-world performance directly informs the next generation of technology.
Our integrated model - designing, building, selling, renting, and servicing advanced, custom-engineered technologies - helps reduce non-productive time (NPT), lower costs and emissions, improve the accuracy and use of operational data, and maximize production safely and sustainably.
Our 1Team operates across the United States, Canada, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia, with an expanding international presence. We grow where technology, data, and people create value.
Our values: Integrity. Teamwork. Work Ethic. Caring. Innovation.
They guide how we hire, how we develop people, and how we make decisions.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 POSITION SUMMARY
We're looking for a 1st or 2nd period Steamfitter-Pipefitter apprentice to join our Completions team. Looking for the right person to assist assembling and preparing pressure vessels and piping for hydrotesting. All work is in our shop, and you'll work under journeyperson supervision. It's a good fit for an apprentice who wants steady hours, consistent mentorship and solid experience with pressure equipment built to code, without rotations or camp work.
2.2 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble pressure vessels, skids and process piping from P&IDs and general arrangement drawings
Fit up flanged, threaded, and other mechanical connections, including picking the right gasket and bolt and checking alignment
Torque bolts in the correct sequence and to the specified values, and record the results on torque reports
Set up hydrotests and help run them: install blinds and test fittings, fill and vent, watch the gauges and hold pressure, then drain and dry
Check incoming parts, valves and fittings against the drawings and material lists
Rig and handle materials safely with overhead cranes, forklifts and hand rigging (training provided)
Fill out job checklists and quality control records accurately
Help prepare units for paint, buildings and E&I
Keep the work area clean and organized, and look after tools and equipment
Follow all EnerCorp safety procedures and take part in hazard assessments and toolbox talks
Qualifications: 3.0 COMPETENCIES
3.1 EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Registered Steamfitter-Pipefitter apprentice in Alberta (1st or 2nd period), or able to transfer an apprenticeship into Alberta
Basic understanding of pipe fittings, flanges, valves and gaskets
Able to read and use a tape measure, level and basic hand and power tools
Physically able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at height and in awkward positions
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Clairmont
3.1.1 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous shop or fabrication experience
Exposure to ASME B31.3 piping or ABSA-registered pressure equipment
Experience with hydrotesting or torque procedures
Overhead crane or forklift experience
Standard First Aid / CPR
3.2 SKILLS & ABILITIES
Drawing interpretation: Reads P&IDs, isometrics and GA drawings well enough to identify parts, orientation and connection types, and asks before building when something is unclear.
Mechanical assembly: Assembles flanged and threaded joints correctly, including gasket seating, bolt engagement and alignment, without forcing or springing the pipe.
Bolting and torque: Understands why bolt sequence and torque values matter, follows the procedure every time, and records the results accurately.
Pressure testing: Understands basic hydrotest principles: venting air, using calibrated gauges, holding test pressure, keeping exclusion zones clear, and the stored energy hazard in a pressurized system.
Tools and equipment: Uses hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches and rigging safely and correctly, and reports damaged equipment.
Measurement and layout: Measures, squares and levels accurately to drawing tolerances.
3.3 BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
Attention to detail: Catches mismatched parts, wrong gasket ratings and drawing errors before they get built in.
Documentation: Fills out checklists, torque reports and test records completely, honestly and legibly.
Code awareness: Understands that the equipment is built and tested to code (ASME B31.3, ABSA), and that shortcuts on pressure equipment aren't acceptable.
4.0 PHYSICAL, SAFETY & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Hazard recognition: Spots and reports hazards such as pinch points, suspended loads, pressurized systems and housekeeping problems.
Procedure compliance: Follows lockout, rigging and pressure-test procedures without being reminded, and uses stop-work authority when something isn't right.
Coachability: Takes direction and feedback from journeypersons and leads, and applies it.
Reliability: Shows up on time, every day, ready to work.
Initiative: Finds the next task when the current one is done and asks questions instead of guessing.
Teamwork: Works well in a small crew and with outside trades such as painters, building crews and E&I contractors.
Commitment to the trade: Is actively progressing through the apprenticeship and plans to attend technical training.
