Your main responsibilities
As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary team contributing to a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or early-career engineer looking to expand their technical knowledge and gain hands-on experience in consulting engineering.
- Assist with the design of electrical systems for commercial, institutional, municipal, and industrial projects;
- Support the preparation of electrical drawings, calculations, specifications, and contract documents;
- Contribute to the design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and emergency power systems;
- Develop design deliverables using AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software;
- Participate in field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments;
- Coordinate project requirements with mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental disciplines;
- Assist with reviewing drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions;
- Support construction administration activities, including site reviews and contractor inquiries;
- Contribute to technical reports, studies, feasibility assessments, and project documentation;
- Promote Englobe's health and safety culture while maintaining a commitment to quality and client service.
What makes you unique
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university;
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for registration with a Canadian engineering association;
- 0-4 years of relevant engineering experience;
- Interest in building electrical systems, municipal infrastructure, or industrial facilities;
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit; experience with AGi32, SKM PowerTools, or similar software is considered an asset;
- Understanding of Canadian electrical codes, standards, and engineering principles;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
