Original job description

Job Title: Senior Product Manager – Authentication

Location: Toronto

Department: Product/Technology

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Head of Product

This role requires a minimum of four (4) days per week working onsite at EnStream’s head office in Toronto; this requirement may be changed at management’s discretion.

About Us

We’re on a mission to grow trust in Canada.

EnStream is a trusted leader in secure mobile identity verification and digital trust in Canada. We work at the intersection of technology, telecommunications, data, and identity to enable organizations to deliver seamless, secure digital experiences. Jointly owned by Canada’s largest telecom providers, EnStream is uniquely positioned to provide access to trusted mobile network insights that help organizations drive growth, reduce fraud, and protect consumers.

We believe that earning trust is the foundation of every great customer relationship. And we’re building the technology, intelligence, and partnerships to make that possible at scale.

About the Role

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Product Manager – Authentication to own the strategy and delivery of next-generation authentication and account protection solutions across the EnStream Trust Platform.

At the intersection of mobile networks, digital identity, and enterprise security, you will turn trusted network verification and mobile-device intelligence into products that help organizations recognize legitimate customers, prevent account takeover, and deliver secure, low-friction experiences.

Your focus spans critical moments across the authentication lifecycle - from digital banking activation and sign-in to authenticator enrolment, device binding, step-up for sensitive actions, and account recovery. You will partner with engineering, carrier partners, security, sales, and enterprise customers to build API-first capabilities that complement existing identity and fraud platforms.

What You’ll Do

Authentication Product Strategy & Leadership

Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for authentication and account protection, grounded in customer needs, competitive differentiation, and business outcomes.
Identify how mobile network verification, SIM and device signals, and trust intelligence can strengthen authentication journeys alongside established methods such as MFA and passkeys.
Own product prioritization, business cases, packaging, and pricing; guide products from 0-to-1 discovery through launch, enterprise adoption, and ongoing improvement.

Authentication Solutions & Product Delivery

Lead the design of secure, low-friction journeys for enrolment, sign-in, authenticator registration, device changes, account recovery, and high-risk step-up across web, mobile, and contact-centre channels.
Shape APIs, SDKs, and developer experiences that integrate with enterprise customer identity and access management (CIAM/IAM), identity providers, orchestration platforms, and fraud decision systems.
Translate authentication use cases into clear requirements and integration patterns, including identity and session context, token lifecycles, failure states, fallback experiences, and service resilience.
Partner with engineering and carrier teams on telecom-enabled approaches, including number verification and SIM-based authentication, ensuring feasibility, interoperability, and customer experience.

Fraud Prevention & Risk-Adaptive Authentication

Work with Trust Intelligence, fraud team, cybersecurity and digital teams to translate network integrity signals, contextual risk, and enterprise policies into appropriate actions: allow, verify, step up, block, or investigate.
Design for real-world threats, including credential compromise, phishing, MFA fatigue, SIM swap, account takeover, fraudulent device enrolment, session abuse, and recovery-channel takeover.
Define the assurance and user-experience trade-offs for each use case, including how network verification complements cryptographic and phishing-resistant authentication methods.

Customer, Carrier & Go-to-Market Engagement

Lead discovery with banks, fintechs, insurers, and other enterprises to understand authentication controls, integration constraints, fraud exposure, and customer friction.
Design customer pilots and proof-of-value programs with measurable success criteria, such as reduced OTP dependence, fewer unnecessary challenges, improved completion, and lower fraud exposure.
Collaborate with carrier partners and technology providers to improve capability, coverage, and reliability; translate complex technology into compelling customer narratives, demos, and use-case playbooks.
Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Product Marketing on commercialization, technical enablement, launch readiness, and customer adoption.

Product Performance, Security & Trust

Define and monitor KPIs across authentication completion, challenge rates, enrolment and recovery success, false declines, fraud outcomes, integration time, API latency, and availability.
Partner with Security, Privacy, Legal, and Engineering to apply secure-by-design, privacy-by-design, threat-modelling, and auditability principles appropriate to high-trust enterprise environments.
Drive operational readiness for live services, including observability, incident response, graceful degradation, and continuous improvement based on customer outcomes.

Experience

6+ years of product management experience in enterprise SaaS, API-first platforms, authentication, digital identity, cybersecurity, fraud/risk, fintech, or telecom, with meaningful end-to-end product ownership.
Proven ability to take technically complex products from customer discovery through development, production launch, and measurable enterprise adoption, including 0-to-1 initiatives.
Experience partnering with software engineering, security, architecture, and customer technical teams to deliver secure APIs, SDKs, integration workflows, or identity services.
Practical exposure to authentication or account protection journeys, such as MFA, passwordless access, passkeys, device binding, step-up authentication, or account recovery.
Experience leading enterprise customer discovery, design-partner engagements, pilots, or commercialization of technical B2B products.

Skills

Strong working knowledge of modern authentication concepts and standards, including MFA, FIDO2/WebAuthn/passkeys, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and token or session management.
Ability to reason about security threats and controls, particularly phishing, social engineering, credential stuffing, SIM swap, recovery abuse, and account takeover.
Technical product judgment around API/SDK design, web and mobile authentication flows, integration architecture, error handling, observability, and service reliability.
Analytical ability to connect authentication performance, user friction, fraud prevention, and commercial outcomes into actionable product decisions.
Exceptional customer empathy, stakeholder influence, and communication skills; able to explain complex security concepts to business leaders, enterprise customers, and engineers.
Ability to balance security, privacy, accessibility, and usability while navigating ambiguity and leading cross-functional execution.

Nice to Have

Experience with mobile operator network APIs or standards, including GSMA Open Gateway/CAMARA Number Verification, SIM Swap, TS.43/ASAC, or OpenID Connect CIBA.
Experience with mobile SDKs, device binding or attestation, secure key storage, synced versus device-bound passkeys, and authenticator migration or recovery.
Familiarity with CIAM and identity provider ecosystems (e.g., Auth0/Okta, Ping, Microsoft Entra), SAML, or authentication orchestration.
Knowledge of security and assurance guidance such as NIST SP 800-63-4, FAPI 2.0, and applicable Canadian privacy expectations.
Experience applying fraud/risk scores, policy engines, continuous session signals, or AI-powered intelligence in adaptive authentication.

Why Join Us?

Help shape the future of authentication and mobile identity, making digital interactions safer and easier across Canada.
Build differentiated products at the intersection of national mobile networks, enterprise identity, security, and fraud prevention.
Work closely with leadership, carrier partners, and major enterprise customers, with direct visibility and
Join a collaborative, mission-driven team where product judgment, technical curiosity, and practical innovation matter.

Ready to Help Build a Safer Canada?

If you’re a product builder, security-minded systems thinker, trusted customer partner, and clear technical storyteller - we’d love to talk.
