Industry: Aerospace / Aircraft Manufacturing

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Method Agent with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing and aircraft assembly. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in method engineering, production support, technical documentation, and assembly process validation.

The role involves supporting knowledge transfer between manufacturing sites, validating work instructions, identifying undocumented assembly practices, and ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.

Candidates must be willing to work on-site in Montreal and travel to and stay in Querétaro, Mexico, for approximately eight months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe complete assembly builds at the manufacturing site and support knowledge transfer to the receiving site.
  • Validate existing work instructions against actual production-line practices.
  • Identify undocumented shop aids, assembly techniques, and hidden manufacturing processes, and document them appropriately.
  • Prepare consolidated reports and workbooks detailing identified shop aids and process gaps.
  • Identify undocumented modifications affecting part fit, form, or assembly, and prepare sketches for review and approval.
  • Identify Condition of Supply (COS) documents requiring updates or modifications.
  • Verify that work instructions accurately specify all required jigs, fixtures, tools, hand tools, consumables, hardware, and parts.
  • Validate detail parts against released Condition of Supply documentation and highlight deviations.
  • Verify assembly compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and design requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconformances, discrepancies, and deviations during First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Support corrective actions, re-inspections, and documentation updates to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation to support assembly and production activities.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and other support teams to resolve production issues.
  • Participate in internal and external reviews and facilitate communication between customer-facing and offshore teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical, Industrial, Electromechanical Engineering, Aerospace Manufacturing, or a related discipline; alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in aerospace or aircraft manufacturing, preferably in method engineering or assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, aircraft assembly techniques, and production-line processes.
  • Good three-dimensional visualization, mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience validating work instructions, identifying process gaps, and documenting assembly deviations.
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI), nonconformance reporting, and corrective-action processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, ENOVIA, or similar applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
  • Good written and spoken French, along with a good working knowledge of English.
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel internationally for the required assignment duration.

Preferred Experience

  • Aircraft assembly method engineering and manufacturing process validation.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and engineering change documentation.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing transfers and knowledge transfer between production sites.
  • Experience identifying undocumented manufacturing practices and improving work instructions.
  • Experience coordinating with production, engineering, and quality teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
