Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Core Banking Business Analyst to support banking transformation, core banking implementation, enhancement, and integration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of core banking processes, banking products, requirements analysis, and technology systems, with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for core banking applications and initiatives.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand banking processes, pain points, and functional requirements.
• Translate business requirements into detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Analyze and document As-Is and To-Be business processes.
• Support core banking implementation, modernization, migration, and enhancement projects.
• Collaborate with development, QA, architecture, integration, and infrastructure teams.
• Define acceptance criteria and support test planning, SIT, UAT, and defect resolution.
• Conduct impact analysis for changes to core banking applications and downstream/upstream systems.
• Support data mapping, data validation, reconciliation, and migration activities.
• Coordinate with product owners and subject matter experts to prioritize requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetings.
• Track requirements, dependencies, risks, issues, and project deliverables.
• Support production implementation and post-production validation.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong experience with Core Banking systems and processes.
• Good understanding of banking products such as:
• Deposits
• Loans
• Payments
• Accounts
• Customer/Party Management
• Interest and fees
• Transaction processing
• Strong knowledge of requirements gathering and functional analysis.
• Experience creating BRD, FRD, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Experience working with API/integration requirements and downstream/upstream banking systems.
• Strong experience supporting SIT/UAT and defect management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with core banking platforms such as Temenos, Finacle, FIS, Fiserv, Oracle FLEXCUBE, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of payments and payment processing.
• Exposure to ISO 20022, SWIFT, ACH, wire transfers, or real-time payments.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working on core banking modernization or legacy system migration projects.
• Canadian banking experience is an asset.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
