Job Title: Thermodynamics Engineer

Experience: 5–8 years

Education: Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Thermodynamics Engineer with strong expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), internal flow analysis, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. The ideal candidate will perform complex thermodynamic analyses to support aircraft design, system optimization, and engineering validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex coupled fluid-flow and heat-transfer analyses using CFD tools.
  • Analyze pipe network flows, thermodynamic systems, and heat-transfer challenges.
  • Conduct internal flow CFD simulations to support aircraft system design and sizing.
  • Evaluate inlet and outlet designs and optimize system performance.
  • Interpret simulation results in the context of aircraft design requirements.
  • Prepare test plans and document engineering analyses, ground tests, and flight test results.
  • Develop and maintain engineering practices, technical documentation, and analysis procedures.
  • Support complex CFD and finite element analysis activities.
  • Work with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and engineering codes where required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and support short-term travel assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline; a bachelor’s degree is the minimum qualification.
  • 5–8 years of experience in internal flow CFD analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Experience with coupled fluid-thermal simulations and complex engineering analyses.
  • Proficiency in Star-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, SpaceClaim, and Simcenter 3D.
  • Ability to interpret CFD results and apply findings to aircraft design and system sizing.
  • Strong technical documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aircraft inlet/outlet design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of in-flight icing and associated heat-transfer analyses.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Familiarity with HPC environments and Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Programming experience in Python, Fortran 77/95, C++, C#, or Visual Basic.
  • Knowledge of complex engineering codes and software interfacing.
  • French language skills are an asset.
