About Enurgen
The energy transition depends on renewable assets performing at their best, and Enurgen makes sure they do. We’re a deep-tech clean tech company. Our performance software helps owners and operators of renewable portfolios get the most availability, energy, and revenue from every site. Our platform, EnurgenOS, finds performance anomalies, traces every loss to its source, and turns findings into clear action plans, so no MWh goes missing. It’s built on more than 10 years of physics-based R&D from the University of Ottawa’s SUNLAB and runs on DUET, our 3D energy model. Today we support 12+ GW of solar and BESS assets in more than 20 countries, and we’re growing fast.
About the Role
We’re looking for highly motivated problem solvers with a technical background to join us as Deployment Lead. You’ll be where our technology meets the real world. You’ll take renewable sites from raw field data to fully validated, peer-reviewed DUET models, and you’ll be the trusted technical partner our clients rely on from day one.
This role is for someone who loves hard technical problems and talking with people. You’ll work on gigawatt-scale assets around the world, turn complex physics and messy data into insights that recover real energy and revenue, and help shape how a fast-growing deep-tech company deploys its platform.
What You'll Do
Build lasting client partnerships
- Be the go-to technical partner for clients through kickoff, sign-off, hypercare, and the rest of the relationship
- Lead deployment meetings and walk clients through model results, assumptions, and findings with clarity and confidence
- Stay close to partners after go-live: check in, surface new insights, and make sure they keep getting value from EnurgenOS
- Travel to client offices and sites to build relationships, gather site information, and present results in person
Turn raw data into reliable insight
- Clean and validate meteorological and plant data
- Build and maintain data validation tools and scripts
- Onboard site SCADA data into ROC (Remote Operations Center), including mapping tag lists, configuring alarms, and setting up plant data connections
Model real-world performance
- Read single-line diagrams, as-built drawings, and equipment datasheets to build each site’s configuration
- Configure DUET models and simulations so they accurately match real site behaviour, for both solar PV and BESS sites
- Compare modelled output with field performance and deliver prioritized lists of actionable on-site losses
Shape how we deploy
- Partner with the Performance Engineering team to keep deployments standardized, consistent, and ready to scale
- Spot opportunities and drive improvements to the deployment process as DUET evolves
What We're Looking For
- A highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative, owns outcomes, and loves solving problems
- Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build rapport, earn trust, and communicate technical analysis directly and accurately
- 3 to 5 years of experience in solar performance engineering, energy yield modelling, or a related data-heavy technical role
- Hands-on experience using Python for data cleaning, validation, and analysis
- Comfortable reading electrical drawings (single-line diagrams, as-builts) and equipment datasheets
- A rigorous, methodical approach to QA/QC and peer review
- Able to manage several deployments and client relationships at once
- Willing to travel for client meetings and site visits
- A degree in engineering, physics, data science, or a similar technical field is an asset
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid understanding of utility-scale solar PV and the factors that affect energy yield
- Familiarity with energy yield modelling tools such as PVsyst or equivalent
- Familiarity with BESS components (containers, PCS) and how they are modelled
- Working knowledge of SQL; experience with ClickHouse or another columnar or time-series database is a strong asset
- Familiarity with SCADA data and ROC, including tag lists, alarm configuration, and OPC UA connections
What we offer
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Health and dental benefits
- 3 weeks of PTO
- Flexibility to work hybrid from our Ottawa office
- Ongoing technical mentorship and professional development
- The chance to be an early, influential member of a fast-growing deep-tech team at the forefront of the clean energy transition
Location
Hybrid, based out of our office in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The position may require travel to client sites and offices with opportunities to attend conferences.
