The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team in Sudbury.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution. You will oversee accounting operations across a complex multi-entity organization, lead a high-performing team, and play a key role in financial reporting, acquisitions, and process improvements.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
Lead daily accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Review financial statements and analyze variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support annual financial statement preparation and compliance with ASPE.
Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and lease accounting activities.
Support acquisition accounting, including purchase price allocation entries and integration activities.
Ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting of acquisition-related transactions.
Maintain strong internal controls and support year-end audits.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and scalability as the business continues to grow.

Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
Foster accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Partner closely with operations, payroll, legal, and executive leadership teams.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

CPA designation would be considered an asset.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of corporate accounting and ASPE.
Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a high-growth or acquisitive organization.
Exposure to mergers and acquisitions or post-acquisition integrations.
Experience with Sage 300 or similar ERP systems.
Background in environmental, industrial, or service-based industries.
Bilingual in English and French.

Responsibilities

Oversee accounting operations across a multi-entity organization, including general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, fixed assets, leases, acquisition accounting, internal controls, and audit support. Lead and develop the accounting team while partnering with other departments and improving processes, systems, and scalability.

Requirements

Requires at least five years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities, and strong knowledge of corporate accounting and ASPE. A CPA designation is an asset; advanced Excel and ERP experience are required, while acquisition experience, Sage 300 or similar systems, relevant industry experience, and English-French bilingualism are preferred.
