Job Title: Talent & Culture Partner
Reports to: Chief Culture Officer

Role Purpose
The Talent & Culture Partner strengthens the organization by attracting the right people, delivering an excellent candidate and employee experience, and supporting leaders in building healthy teams. This role owns recruiting coordination and onboarding execution, and acts as a practical culture-builder through consistent people practices, recognition
rhythms, and leader support.
Key Accountabilities
1) Recruiting & Talent Coordination
- Post requisitions, manage applicant flow across recruitment platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, careers page), review resumes, shortlist talent, and conduct initial phone screens.
- Partner closely with General Managers and Department Heads to recruit across a wide range of positions from skilled trades and field crews (roofers, restoration technicians, carpenters, labourers) to office, finance, technical, and management roles.
- Coordinate first- and second-round interviews with hiring managers, ensuring candidates experience clarity, respect, and timely communication.
- Build and maintain talent pools, partnering with General Managers (GMs) to support ongoing staffing needs.
- Knowledge of international recruiting, LMIA coordination, iMP option processes, and agent communications
2) Onboarding & New Hire Experience
- Enhance the orientation and onboarding experience to reflect and reinforce company culture.
- Draft offers of employment and coordinate start-date logistics, orientation scheduling, and onboarding readiness.
- Lead and coordinate bi-weekly new hire orientations (held Mondays/Thursdays) in collaboration with Safety and department leads.
- Set up employees in Dayforce, provide Dayforce training, and ensure all onboarding
documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate safety orientation and required training in partnership with the safety team.
3) Culture Practices & Employee Care
- Support recognition and rewards rhythms, ensuring employee milestones and acknowledgements are executed consistently.
- Administer Motivosity as the company’s central recognition, rewards, and communication hub. Manage monthly manager spot-bonus budgets, foster peer-to-peer shout-outs tied to core values, and keep the company feed active.
- Provide responsive employee care - serving as one of two primary points of contact for HR questions and routing matters appropriately.
- Collaborate closely with the HR Operations & Compliance Specialist to support employee and manager needs with clarity and consistency.
- Partner with the Chief Culture Officer on culture initiatives, internal communications, and leader development (training support, rollout logistics, participation tracking).
- Strengthen manager capability and follow-through in performance and discipline processes through coaching, reminders, tools, and consistent workflows.
4) Learning & Growth Enablement
- Support performance management tools and drive manager engagement and follow-through.
- Support the Chief Culture Officer in delivering new manager training and strengthening the development of existing managers.
- Integrate the “Driving Needs” framework into leader practices and day-to-day culture rhythms.
- Develop training and facilitation skills through coaching and mentoring by the Chief Culture Officer.
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of experience in recruitment, talent operations, or an HR Generalist capacity.
Industry Background: Experience recruiting within construction, restoration, skilled trades, or fast-paced multi-entity environments is a strong asset.
Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
HR Systems & Tech: Proficiency with HRIS/WFM software (experience with Dayforce is a strong asset). Familiarity with employee engagement platforms (e.g., Motivosity) and recruitment tools/ATS.
Compliance Knowledge: Sound working knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards Code, Alberta Human Rights Act, and privacy standards (PIPA).
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups and facilitating orientation sessions.
