EPT Clean Oil is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Chemical Technologist to oversee the quality systems that support our Fluid Technical Center.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that quality is more than documentation. It requires disciplined processes, reliable equipment, accurate results, and the willingness to investigate when something does not look right.
As our Quality Control Chemical Technologist, you will monitor compliance with quality standards for materials, processes, and procedures within the Fluid Technical Center. This role verifies quality control checks, validates and reports data, and coordinates the calibration of lab equipment. The position also supports laboratory initiatives, including client testing and research & development, and assists with audits to maintain the integrity of operations.
What You'll Do
- Work with the Lab Team to maintain the Lab’s Quality Management System (QMS), including SOPs, calibrations, and QC checks.
- Conduct QC assessments, track trends, and report non-conformances to the Lab Manager.
- Investigate and perform root cause analyses for trends and non-conformances.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and implement corrective actions.
- Validate and report lab data.
- Support research and development projects under managerial guidance.
- Support other lab activities as required.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or another relevant scientific field.
- Two to four years of laboratory experience involving quality assurance, quality control, compliance, or equipment calibration.
- Practical experience working with a Quality Management System.
- Experience maintaining controlled documents, SOPs, calibration records, and quality data.
- The ability to investigate problems, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- The confidence to raise quality concerns and work collaboratively toward solutions.
- Strong personal accountability and consistent attention to detail.
Experience supporting audits, continuous improvement initiatives, or laboratory accreditation requirements would be considered an asset.
