Original job description

Join a Challenger

At EQ, we're remaking banking so every Canadian gets ahead, every day. Serving nearly 4 million Canadians from coast to coast, we offer a wide variety of financial services from banking and lending, to trust and credit union solutions.

We've been at this since 1970, challenging the conventions of traditional banking with smarter, faster, and more connected financial experiences.

What's kept us moving? The people behind it all: challengers who ask better questions, push back on old assumptions, and look for a better way forward.

If you're driven to help reshape how banking works for Canadians and the businesses that power our economy, this could be your next big opportunity.

We can’t wait to get to know you!

Work Term: January - April 2027

The Product Management Intern, Digital Banking, will support the product team in building digital experiences that make banking simpler and more rewarding for our customers. Over this 16-week internship, the intern will help uncover customer needs, shape and prioritize product improvements, and measure their impact on both customer experience and business results. The candidate must execute their tasks in a timely and prudent manner within established guidelines.

The Core Responsibilities Of The Job

  • Gather and synthesize customer insights from feedback, app reviews, support contacts and user research to uncover pain points and opportunities
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to benchmark our customer experience and identify opportunities to differentiate
  • Help define problem statements, user stories and success metrics (e.g., adoption, conversion, customer satisfaction) for new features
  • Analyze product metrics, funnels and experiment (A/B test) results to generate insights and recommend next steps
  • Own recurring reporting on product performance and customer experience KPIs, sharing clear daily, weekly and monthly updates with the broader team
  • Support product launches and post-launch reviews, measuring customer impact and capturing learnings
  • Partner with customer-facing teams (e.g., Customer Service) to ensure a seamless, consistent experience across channels
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, contribute to a culture of customer focus, quality, innovation and teamwork, and manage own workload to meet deadlines

Let's Talk About You!

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in progress, in finance, business administration, commerce, economics, data analysis, marketing, engineering, product management or any other relevant field
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively across functions to deliver successful outcomes;
  • Customer-obsessed, with genuine curiosity about how people manage their money and what makes a great digital experience;
  • Analytical and data-oriented; comfortable using data (e.g., Excel, SQL or similar) to generate reports and actionable insights;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a passion for optimizing products efficiently and effectively;
  • Comfortable with design, UX and technical terminology; familiarity with agile ways of working is an asset;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise, and professional manner
