Data Center Operations Technician (Entry Level)
About the Role
We are looking for a Data Center Operations Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and management of customer equipment within a world-class data center environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with 1-2 years of technical or data center experience who are passionate about infrastructure, networking, and delivering exceptional customer service.
What You'll Do
- Manage and respond to data center work orders within agreed service levels.
- Install, rack, and cable customer equipment and infrastructure.
- Perform cross-connect installations, modifications, testing, and documentation.
- Support fiber, copper, and coax cable management activities.
- Assist with equipment testing, troubleshooting, and Layer 1 certification testing.
- Maintain accurate records and update asset management systems.
- Provide on-site customer support, access control, and escort services when required.
- Support operational projects, audits, and vendor activities.
- Collaborate with operations, security, and technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Complete assigned training and contribute to team success.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a data center, telecommunications, network operations, IT infrastructure, or related technical environment.
- Basic understanding of cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper connectivity.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working in a physical data center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with rack and stack activities.
- Exposure to network connectivity, cross-connects, or structured cabling.
- Knowledge of data center operations and infrastructure best practices.

- Duration: 12 months
- Pay Range*: CA$25 - CA$30 per hour
- Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
- T4 Contract
