You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

Reports To: AVP, Portfolio Risks & ALM
Department: Asset Management
Term: Permanent Full-Time

What you’ll do:

Create and enhance analytical frameworks that support investment decision-making, portfolio monitoring, performance evaluation, and relative value assessments
Manage quarterly reporting and analysis of IFRS Net Investment Results, providing clear insights on portfolio performance, market developments, and key drivers of results
Develop and utilize modelling and risk management tools to assess interest rate, equity, credit, liquidity, and other investment risks while supporting asset-liability risk management activities
Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Product, Risk, and Asset Management teams on strategic initiatives, capital allocation decisions, product development, financial planning, and business strategy
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and governance committees by delivering executive-ready recommendations, investment analysis, and strategic insights
Identify, assess, and manage operational risks related to analytical models, data, methodologies, reporting processes, and decision-support frameworks while maintaining strong governance, controls, and documentation practices

What you’ll bring:

Post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline
FSA/FCIA designation
Experience in portfolio management, asset-liability management, insurance investment strategy, financial modelling, capital management, risk management, or investment performance analysis
Strong understanding of fixed income, private credit, mortgages, real estate, equities, derivatives, liquidity management, and liability-driven investment strategies
Proven ability to develop quantitative models, optimization frameworks, scenario analysis, risk dashboards, governance materials, and executive-ready recommendations
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across Asset Management, Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Product, and Technology functions
Strong documentation, governance, and continuous improvement skills, with experience developing scalable processes, policies, guidelines, controls, and reporting practices
Experience with Python, R, SQL, VBA, Power BI, or similar analytical and automation tools is considered an asset

What’s in it for you:

Career Growth: Regular learning sessions and development opportunities
Total Rewards: Incentive pay, annual salary reviews, employer-paid benefits and pension matching
Time Away: Competitive vacation plus one paid volunteer day each year
Flexibility: Healthy work-life balance with employee wellness always top of mind, complemented by a “dress for your day” approach

We’re committed to fair pay and an inclusive, accessible hiring experience. If you need accommodations or alternative formats at any stage, just reach out to us at careers@equitable.ca. We’re happy to help.

If you’re selected to move forward, our Talent Acquisition team will walk you through all the details of our total rewards program, so you know exactly what’s included.
