About the Position

The Junior Analyst, Real Estate Asset Management is an integral role within the Investment Finance and Asset Management team, reporting directly to the Manager of Investment Finance, with dotted line support to the Asset Manager. The role provides analytical and reporting support across both functions, contributing to the team’s oversight of financial performance, portfolio operations and ongoing asset management initiatives across the Equiton portfolio.

This position will collaborate with various teams including Acquisitions, Development, Property Management & Operations, Legal, Marketing and Accounting to deliver strategic analysis and provide financial and operational insights across the Equiton portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Support in the development and analysis of underlying property level assumptions that inform budgeting and forecasting activities and assist with the compilation and analysis of financial and operational data used in quarterly reporting cycles.
Support the analysis of financial, property and fund level performance by comparing actual results against plans, forecasts and other relevant performance benchmarks, and assist in identifying key trends, variances and value add opportunities.
Assist with the updating and maintenance of financial models and analyzing financial and operational data to support investment finance and asset management decision making.
Track capital improvement projects and prepare supporting analysis to monitor performance against approved plans and asset management objectives.
Assist with the preparation of materials, supporting analyses and presentation decks for monthly and quarterly reporting and portfolio reviews presented to key stakeholders and broader teams across the organization.
Assist in compiling and analyzing market intelligence, industry research and benchmarking data to assess market trends, competitive positioning and property and portfolio level performance.
Prepare research reports and memos summarizing relevant developments, trends and insights within the multifamily sector.
Support capital raising activities through the preparation of ad hoc financial, portfolio and property level analysis, as required.
Assist with due diligence on acquisitions or dispositions
Leverage analytical and AI tools to enhance analysis and support process efficiencies.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field of study
Pursuing or interested in pursuing a CPA or CFA designation is preferred
1-3 years of relevant experience in finance, real estate or a related analytical role
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in real estate or asset management is considered an asset
Experience working with financial data and reporting tools is considered an asset

The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 plus a discretionary bonus. The actual base salary offered will take into consideration factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, and relevant education or training.
