About the Position

We’re looking for a hands-on Web Developer to take ownership of Equiton’s growing portfolio of public-facing websites and digital campaign experiences.

Working within the Digital Marketing team, you’ll build, maintain and continuously improve our WordPress websites, landing pages and lead-generation experiences. You’ll translate marketing objectives, brand guidelines and design concepts into responsive, accessible and high-performing web experiences that support investor engagement and business growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning and optimizing marketing websites rather than building software products. It isn’t a “build it and forget it” position - you’ll be actively involved in website performance, user experience, analytics, testing and ongoing improvements.

This is an in-office position based in Burlington, ON.

Key Responsibilities

Build, update and maintain Equiton’s WordPress websites, landing pages and campaign-specific digital experiences
Create and customize pages, templates and reusable Gutenberg blocks using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, visually consistent and optimized across browsers and devices
Monitor and optimize site performance, including Core Web Vitals, page speed, technical SEO, uptime and overall site health
Build and maintain lead-capture forms and conversion-focused landing pages
Connect website experiences with CRM, email marketing, analytics and marketing-automation platforms
Implement and maintain website tracking through Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
Troubleshoot website issues, plugin conflicts, broken functionality and cross-browser inconsistencies
Partner with Marketing and Design to turn campaign briefs and design mockups into polished digital experiences
Support A/B testing and conversion-rate optimization initiatives
Monitor website performance and recommend ongoing improvements based on data, user behaviour and emerging best practices
Monitor website security and governance, including WordPress core and plugin updates, vulnerability monitoring, access management, backups and coordination with IT and external hosting partners.

What You Bring

3+ years of hands-on web development experience, ideally within a marketing team, agency or brand environment
Strong proficiency in HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript
Experience developing and customizing WordPress themes, templates and Gutenberg blocks, with working knowledge of PHP and WordPress development standards
Ability to evaluate, configure and troubleshoot plugins while minimizing unnecessary dependencies and plugin bloat
Experience building responsive websites, landing pages and lead-capture forms
Working knowledge of technical SEO, website performance and web accessibility standards
Hands-on experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, dataLayer, conversion tracking, UTM parameters, pixels, form tracking, consent/cookie management, cross-domain tracking and troubleshooting attribution
Experience testing and troubleshooting websites across browsers and devices
Ability to work from design mockups, brand guidelines and campaign briefs
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style

Nice to Have

Experience working with CRM and marketing-automation platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Mailchimp
Familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite and the ability to make basic adjustments to digital assets
Understanding of conversion-rate optimization and A/B testing principles
Experience supporting websites within financial services, real estate or another regulated industry

The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 plus a discretionary bonus. The actual base salary offered will take into consideration factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, and relevant education or training.
