Our in-house trades team of Red Seal plumbers, gasfitters and HVAC technicians services the buildings we manage across Calgary. That means steady service work, a growing team and direct contact with the property managers and building operators you support.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced service plumber to diagnose, repair and maintain plumbing and domestic water systems in high-rise condominiums, multi-family and commercial buildings. Most of your work will be in mechanical rooms, parkades and occupied suites. You’ll be the go-to plumbing expert for our operations team and building operators.

What You’ll Do

• Service and repairs: diagnose and repair domestic water, drainage, waste and vent systems in occupied multi-residential and commercial buildings.
• Mechanical room equipment: service and replace domestic hot water heaters and storage tanks, recirculation and booster pumps, PRVs, mixing valves and isolation valves.
• Drainage: troubleshoot blockages and leaks using sewer cameras and pressure testing. Maintain sump and sewage ejector pits, parkade drains and cast iron drain stacks.
• Backflow and compliance: repair backflow preventers and support annual testing, following the code and City of Calgary requirements.
• Water shutdowns: plan and carry out shutdowns, and coordinate with property managers so residents are notified.
• Preventive maintenance: carry out scheduled PM on plumbing systems and equipment across the portfolio.
• Gas work: service and repair gas-fired water heaters, boilers and gas piping, within the scope of your gas certification.
• Documentation: record work in our mobile work-order system with before-and-after photos, clear notes and materials used. Flag building deficiencies and recommend repairs.
• Safety and teamwork: work alongside building operators, electricians and other trades while following safety protocols and building codes.

Qualifications

• Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter certificate (Strong 4th year may be considered)
• 5+ years of service plumbing experience, ideally in commercial or high-rise multi-residential buildings
• Strong understanding of residential and commercial plumbing systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills for domestic hot water, heating systems, and pumps
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract
• Excellent customer service skills; comfortable working in occupied units and dealing professionally with residents and property managers
• Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team
• Comfortable using a tablet or phone-based work-order app
• Willing to take part in an on-call rotation

Assets

• Dual ticket (Class A Gasfitter or Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (HVAC/R)) strongly preferred
• Boiler troubleshooting experience
• Backflow tester certification
• Experience with ProPress, Aquatherm, or copper repiping projects
