Security Champion – Software Security & Compliance

About the Opportunity Based in Montreal, within the Platform Engineering & Flow (PEF) unit of BCSS Core Networks Engineering, we are launching a new Security Champion role to lead secure software development across SSC programs in the areas of Software Product Security and Compliance. SSC serves as the driver for Digital Enablement for Software Product Security at Ericsson, delivering key internal IT services to all Product Development organizations.

What You Will Do

Serve as the SSC Security Lead, supporting Architect Leads, Tools Leads, and Operations Managers on all IT security requirements and vulnerability assessments.
Support SSC teams in preparing for and completing security and compliance assessments (ITCA, ORR, ADQ, ISRA), driving sustainable corrective actions.
Lead security risk management activities, including threat assessments, vulnerability management, control effectiveness, and gap remediation.
Represent SSC in the PEF Security Chapter and BCSS E3 Security forums, contributing to shared standards and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and adopt security standards, reusable patterns, and reference solutions.
Ensure clear, effective communication within teams and across organizational levels.

What You Will Bring

Master's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in product, application, cloud, or software security, connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.
Experience in vulnerability management from discovery to closure, including CVE analysis, remediation prioritization, and PSIRT coordination.
Ability to build a security community through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and chapter leadership.
Awareness of AI and machine-learning security risks, including generative AI, prompt injection, and supply-chain risks.
Track record of leading technology and cultural change in a complex R&D or platform engineering environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical leadership skills; fluency in English required.

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Your Time

Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, plus at least 3 personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
