The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) is a Medical Regulatory Authority that serves and protects the public by regulating the practice of medicine and physician assisting in the public interest in this province. Our vision is to ensure quality healthcare in Newfoundland and Labrador through the regulation of the medical profession and physician assisting in the public interest.

Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Chief Operating and Privacy Officer, the IT Support Coordinator is the organization’s primary point of contact for day-to-day technology support and the central liaison between staff, Council members and external service providers. You will ensure that employees and Council members have reliable, secure, and well-maintained technology so they can focus on their work with minimal disruption.

In this entry level role, you will be the first point of contact for all technology issues, triaging and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity problems while managing user accounts and access. You will oversee the full lifecycle of IT equipment and software, from onboarding new employees and maintaining asset inventories to coordinating repairs, warranty work, and software license renewals You will support meeting room technology and audiovisual equipment, including on‑the‑spot troubleshooting for key events such as Council meetings. You will work in coordination with the Corporate Services team to recommend and oversee the use, security and evolution of Artificial Intelligence tools.

The IT Support Coordinator uses strong communication and customer‑service skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and build trusted relationships with external providers. Organized and detail‑oriented, you will document support services, ensure asset records and software licenses are accurate and up to date. Proactive and reliable, you will continuously look for ways to reduce inefficiencies and technology‑related risk while taking ownership of issues from first contact through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

End-User Support & Troubleshooting: Provide operational oversight of day-to-day end-user technology support, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and Microsoft 365 applications.
Onboarding, Accounts & Access: Oversee the technology components of employee onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and configuration, user account and password management, and coordination of access and equipment logistics.
Documentation & Vendor Coordination: Ensure all service requests are tracked, documented, and resolved; coordinate repairs, warranty work, and escalations with vendors and IT resources as required.
IT Asset & Software License Management: Provide end-to-end oversight of IT hardware and software assets, including inventory management, software subscription and license renewals, license allocation to staff, and collaboration with Corporate Services on agreements, budgeting, and compliance.
Meeting Room & Audiovisual Support: Ensure reliable operation of meeting room technology and audiovisual equipment, providing standby and on-the-spot troubleshooting support for Council meetings and other critical meetings.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Act as the primary liaison between IT and business users to minimize inefficiencies and technology-related risk; partner with Corporate Services and other stakeholders to streamline processes and support ongoing improvements to the technology environment.

Ideal Candidate

Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
1–2 years of experience in a hands-on IT support or coordinator role.
Demonstrated experience supporting Windows devices and the Microsoft 365 suite.
Practical familiarity with IT asset management and software/license tracking.
Strong troubleshooting ability with a practical, detail-oriented approach to problem solving.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly to varying audiences.
High accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, , and asset/license records.
Ability to work independently as a reliable self-starter and as a collaborative team player.
Strong work ethic with the ability to meet tight timelines and manage competing priorities.
Proactive mindset focused on reducing inefficiencies and technology-related risk, with interest in growing into broader responsibilities over time.
