Original job description

Job description:

Eura Drives is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance industrial automation products, specializing in Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Servo Systems. With our growing presence and established distribution network in NA, we deliver energy-efficient, robust motor control solutions to the manufacturing, HVAC, water treatment, and automation sectors.

We are seeking a versatile VFD/Servo Technologist with a passion for Customer Service and Sales to join our team on a part-time basis (2–3 days/week) leading to full time. This role bridges the gap between deep technical troubleshooting and commercial client success.

Position Overview

In this dual-focus role, you will be the primary technical point of contact for our distributors, system integrators, and end-users. You will spend your time resolving complex drive-commissioning inquiries, conducting bench testing/repairs, and identifying new commercial opportunities to grow the Eura Drives footprint in North America.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Hands-on Engineering (approx. 50%)

  • Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support via phone, email, and virtual meetings to customers installing and commissioning Eura VFDs and servo systems.
  • Guide clients through parameter configuration, macro setups, and communication protocol integration (EthernetIP, Modbus, BACnet, Profibus, etc.).
  • Perform bench-level testing, troubleshooting, firmware updates, and basic component repairs on returned units (RMA) in our local warehouse.
  • Create concise technical guides, FAQ sheets, and basic wiring diagrams to simplify product adoption for North American contractors.

Customer Service, Sales & Account Management (approx. 50%)

  • Respond to sales inquiries, qualify incoming leads from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors, and generate accurate technical quotes.
  • Consult with prospective clients to cross-reference competitor drive specs and recommend the ideal Eura product line fit.
  • Maintain active communication with our existing distributor network to track stock requirements and pipeline projects.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and basic technical training sessions (in-person or online) for engineering clients.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Educational background in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. A valid Ontario Industrial Electrician license (309A) is a strong asset.
  • Technical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience programming, commissioning, and diagnosing AC Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and servo systems.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; ability to translate dense, highly technical electrical concepts into simple, actionable steps for customers.
  • Commercial Acumen: Prior experience in industrial sales, applications engineering, or technical customer support is highly preferred.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment. French, German, Spanish or Mandarin language skills are an asset but not required.

What We Offer

  • Flexible scheduling.
  • Deep, direct training on Eura product architecture and internal diagnostic tools.
  • Opportunities to transition into a full-time role as the operation scales.

To Apply: Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter outlining your experience working with VFD/Servo systems and technical customer support to sales@euradrives.net

Work Location: In person
