Original job description
Company Description EventGo is an AI-native event platform headquartered in Toronto. AI sits at the core of our product: it powers how people discover events, how attendees connect with each other, and how organizers grow their communities. Discovery, ticketing, social networking and organizer management all live in one place.
In about three years, EventGo has grown to more than 100,000 Canadian users and a few thousand event organizers. They range from AI and tech meetups to professional networks and cultural communities. Organizers choose us for competitive pricing, hands-on service, and tools that help them build a real community instead of selling one-off tickets.
We are a lean, fast-moving team. Every hire here shapes the product, the culture and the trajectory of the company.
As Organizer Growth Manager, you will own how event organizers discover, join and succeed on EventGo. You will find the best organizers in our focus communities, win them over, and make sure they go live and sell their first tickets quickly.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will be our first dedicated hire focused on organizer growth. You will build the playbook, work directly with the CEO, and shape how this function scales.
What You'll Do
Acquire organizers
- Identify and prioritize high-potential organizers in our focus segments: AI and tech professional events, and Canadian professional and cultural communities.
- Run multi-channel outreach (email, LinkedIn, phone, in-person at events) and close organizers onto EventGo.
- Convert organizers whose public events already appear on EventGo into active accounts through our claim-your-profile flow.
- Build partnerships with venues, community groups and associations that bring multiple organizers at once.
Activate and grow them
- Guide every new organizer to publish their first event and sell their first tickets, quickly and smoothly.
- Help organizers get the most out of EventGo, including ticketing, local payment options and community features.
- Turn successful organizers into repeat users, references and referral sources.
Build the engine
- Manage your pipeline in our internal BD system and keep data clean and current.
- Track conversion from lead to activated organizer, find where organizers drop off, and fix it.
- Feed organizer insights back to Product to improve onboarding and organizer tools.
- Document what works into a repeatable playbook for future team members.
What we are looking for
- 3+ years in business development, partnerships, account management or sales, ideally on a two-sided marketplace, SaaS or events platform.
- A track record of hitting acquisition or revenue targets through outbound prospecting.
- Excellent communication in English, written and spoken, with the confidence to pitch founders, community leaders and venue owners.
- A self-starter who thrives with high ownership and limited structure.
- Comfort with data: you manage a pipeline, read a funnel and act on what it tells you.
Nice to have
- Experience at a ticketing or events company, or at a venue.
- An existing network in the events, tech or community scene, or experience organizing events yourself.
- Experience building an early-stage function from scratch.
