Are You the Kind of Person Who Knocks on Doors - and Opens Them?
At Everclean, we don't wait for the phone to ring. We go out and find the next win. If you're a relentless self-starter who gets fired up about building your own book of business, thrives on the hunt, and genuinely loves the thrill of turning a cold prospect into a loyal client - we need to talk.
We are a trusted name in professional janitorial and facility services across the GTA and beyond. As we grow, we're looking for a Business Development Manager who brings the grit, hustle, and strategic thinking to match our ambition. This is not a role for someone who waits to be handed leads. This is a role for someone who creates them - and someone who already knows the right people to call on day one.
What You'll Own
You are the frontline of our growth. With roughly 60–80% of your time spent in the field, you will be out meeting people, shaking hands, attending industry events, and building the kinds of relationships that turn into long-term contracts. The other time, you'll be behind the strategy - crafting winning proposals, researching emerging markets, and working cross-functionally to position Everclean as the facility services partner of choice.
Hunting for New Business (approximately 30% of your time):
- You will identify, pursue, and close new commercial opportunities aligned with Everclean's growth goals.
- You'll dig into market research, analyze competitor landscapes for openings, and introduce our service solutions directly to decision-makers.
- You'll build a pipeline, manage it meticulously in our CRM, and develop relationships that create opportunities Everclean.
- Critically, you will leverage your existing rolodex of industry contacts - property managers, facility directors, procurement leads, and commercial real estate professionals - to fast-track introductions and accelerate the pipeline from day one.
Winning Proposals and Tenders (approximately 30% of your time):
- You know how to put together a compelling bid.
- You'll monitor RFP platforms, lead mandatory site visits and pre-bid meetings, and coordinate with our internal Bid Management and Operations teams to deliver precise, timely, and persuasive proposals.
- Your proposals will be well-organized, accurate, and built to win. Your industry network will give you intelligence on what prospects are looking for before an RFP even hits the market.
Client Engagement and Relationship Building (approximately 20% of your time):
- Great relationships don't maintain themselves.
- You'll schedule and attend meaningful client touchpoints - both one-on-one and in group settings - participate in networking events with purpose, and present our solutions directly to decision-makers.
- You'll represent Everclean with professionalism and confidence, and ensure seamless handoffs to our operations and support teams when new clients come on board.
Keeping the Business Running Smoothly:
- You'll also prepare weekly sales reports, maintain accurate expense records, archive proposals for easy team access, stay sharp on industry trends, and contribute to budget and forecast planning.
You Come With a Network - and You Know How to Work It
This is a key differentiator for this role. We're not just looking for someone who can build relationships from scratch - we want someone who arrives with a warm book of contacts and knows how to activate them strategically. Whether it's a facilities director you've worked with at a previous company, a property management group you've built trust with over years, or a procurement contact who knows your name and picks up your calls - those relationships are currency here.
At Everclean, we believe that influence and credibility, built through genuine industry presence, are what separate good salespeople from great ones. You understand that your professional network isn't just a list of names - it's a living ecosystem of mutual value that, when tended carefully, creates a steady stream of opportunity.
In this role, you will:
- Bring a documented network of contacts in commercial real estate, property management, facilities management, corporate services, and/or related sectors
- Actively leverage existing relationships to generate introductions, referrals, and early-stage pipeline within the first 90 days
- Represent Everclean at industry associations, trade events, and sector-specific networking forums - not just to attend, but to be known
- Maintain and grow your industry relationships with deliberate, consistent touchpoints - whether through LinkedIn engagement, site visits, industry dinners, or coffee catch-ups
- Share market intelligence gathered from your network with Everclean's leadership team to inform our growth strategy and competitive positioning
What We're Looking For
- The hunger. You understand that daily targets feed weekly results, which build monthly and annual success. You don't need someone to push you - you push yourself.
- The track record. You bring 4+ years of outside B2B sales experience with a proven ability to meet and exceed quotas. Experience in facility services, building maintenance, commercial cleaning, or a related industry is a strong asset - and so is a network that proves you've been in those rooms.
- The network. You come with an established book of industry contacts and a demonstrable history of converting relationships into revenue. You understand that your network is one of your most valuable professional assets, and you invest in it accordingly.
- The skills. You are a natural relationship-builder and negotiator who can read a room, earn trust quickly, and close. You communicate with clarity - in writing and in conversation - and you're skilled at managing complex proposals and stakeholder dynamics. You know how to ask for advice, make introductions, and turn a warm contact into a closed deal.
- The mindset. You are entrepreneurial, organized under pressure, and comfortable working independently. You treat your territory like your own business and take ownership of every outcome. You think long-term about relationships - not just transactions.
- The credentials. A bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- The tools. Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite; CRM experience is a given.
Why Everclean?
